I was thinking about this today and how useful this might be to have for pirates or even others like outcasts, if there was an option to specifically hide the tag without doing a full on -disguise. The option would go off your bluff/perform, and allow you to hide a particular trait without having a big "metameplease" above your head while doing it.
It'd also be useful, if the tattoos could be hidden/shown even while -disguised. I've had moments where I was in -disguise and needed to show the tattoos, but removing disguise would have been problematic.
