New option for Gloaming wings - Gloaming player opinions needed!

Post by JerrickRafe2 »

So, in inquiring about the new option for Gloaming wings that popped up in Announcements, a suggestion was made and tentatively approved for a change to Gloaming wings ... IF enough of the playerbase is on board. Its only up for consideration if enough folks are into it. I certainly am, so here is the other option, for your consideration!

Would you like to switch to this style of wing?

It's not clear to me what I'm looking at here. Is that shadow shield, or will the wings look like that all the time? I see the character there also has that texture effect....

This model is much better.

Gloamings' wings are supposed to be furry instead of smooth (like the insect wings they currently have) and this model gives that vibe a lot better. They also look closer to the wings of the gloaming art in the wiki.

Could we see a little gif or something of the animation, and how they look without shadowshield?

I'm really loving the current new wings, the moth ones.

The current new wings look fine and I think they're all we need. The issue with them is less with the looks and more with how frequently they flop back and forth, which may extend to this other proposed wings model anyway so I dont think I see the need, personally.

The wings are supposed to have a shadow shield effect. It would be the canon of Gloaming.

Porque no los dos?

That would evolve scripting work and It's not something within my power to do.

I'd be happy to help with that part.

Wooooowhoooo !!! As a "not-having-any-greater-to-play-gloaming" I thank you.
But we need more responses from people let's see how they react.

It is my opinion, being made of shadowstuff, that gloamlings should be able to have whichever wings they like, whether they be draconic, pixie-esque, bat-like, whatever's compatible, but with the shadow shield effect regardless. Perhaps they can toggle it off once they have 15 racial levels (to signify mastery of their shadow magic.

That said, the displayed wings I do think would be better than the current opions.

I'd like these a lot if they were darker. I think it'd help make them look furry instead of feathered, too. I especially like that they sprout from higher up on the back.

The shadow shield effect on any wing type would be much, much worse than anything gloamings have ever had. It's not a pleasant VFX. Please don't subject us to that.

If the wings' texture is easy to edit I would like to give it a try. But we need to respect the crowd. Many show interest in the shadow wings, some like spiky wings, some like roundish, some prefer Moth, and others prefer Birb. Still, let's wait and see for more responses.

Bird wings + a dark brown furred texture replacement would be most setting appropriate!

Try harder! Help set a good example of roleplay for the server culture.

No thanks.. personally I love the bug-wings, if they were to add this, I would hope its an additional option rather than a full swap over.
