New Player Restrictions: Summon Shadow

New player here. I guess I'll jump right in.

I am not sure if this is intended or not, but one of the things that being a new player prevents you from being able to do is using your SD Summon Shadow Feat. This is a critical feat for leveling the class and makes the PrC pretty useless.

It is also not documented on the wiki page under New Player Restrictions, otherwise I would not have used a build that kind of requires the summon for leveling.

((the server is great and people are fun to roleplay with, by the way))

This is not because you are a new player, but rather likely related with custom abilities issues mentioned in Arelith Updates: viewtopic.php?f=23&p=324307#p324287

Do you get the New Player Restrictions error?

If I remember right the problem was originally because summoning outsiders was prohibited due to wildmages trying to wildmage out a balor in skal, though I had thought it might've been fixed for shadows. Perhaps not if its still happening

I don't think so. This is my first character on Arelith and it says I still need like 30+ hours before the restriction goes away.

What does the error look like? Next I get a chance to log in I'll let you know here.

I was wrong about Shadow Daze. The feat does work.

I am not affected by a new player error. No message in combat log or out of line time restrictions.

...and this is intentional.

Any DEV types able to confirm this? If so this can be locked or w/e and I can make a thread in the suggestion area.
