Hostile At RDI - Boss Room

So, at RDI - if you are hostile to anything in the room, you cannot leave the room. Meaning, you will die or defeat the enemies. Well, consider you just fought the dragon, won, and are looting. A hoard of surfacers run in - and hostile you so you cannot leave the room. You should not have the ability to block someone's escape by using hostile, as it is an OOC measure that you should not react to IC. Not being able to IC leave for an OOC measure is a wrong exploit and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Keep in mind I'm not complaining about what happened or the players it happened with - they were all true champs about the situation and honestly, I'd like to thank them for the scene - but the area should be changed for future fair conflict.

I agree to this. I imagine it's designed to stop you running in and out of the dragon's room to cheese heal and dodge damage - plus also to make it more of a 'no quarter' battle. I do not think the intention was for players to be blocked from leaving the zone by other players on a highly contested dungeon.

Perhaps just have the stairs unable to be descended and also do not let players re-enter the dragon's room if using one of the two side doors.

This can be bad beats.

Then again -ward_teleport also exists, soo... when bad things happen to good adventurers, I guess?

I always took it as the dragon's magic preventing you from leaving until it was defeated.

Players blocking your exit by hostiling (an OOC thing) sounds like an exploit that ought to be reported to the DMs.

Well it was probably a standard surface party vs monster party area hostile, it is extremely unlikely anyone was exploiting here. It's just a flaw with the area.

Ideally, once a group has entered the boss room at RDI (or any other place that works that way), it would lock anyone not in their party from entering the room, to stop this sort of thing being cheesed.

Not sure if such is possible.
