I was wondering if there was any reason the recipes on the crafting compendium don't have descriptions and details on what the equipment/consumables you can craft do. If that is simply a lot of work, I'd love to help! It would be super useful and it would do away needing the wiki -and- the compendium.

Re: Crafting compendium details
This is the primary reason I never use it and just use the wiki.

Re: Crafting compendium details
This is a question for backlands, but I know the compendium goes off of what recipes are in-game. Which also don't give any of the information described.
also i don't use the wiki because it tends to be out of date :^)

I really want the tool to be able to do this, unfortunately the item descriptions are actually stored in in-game item files (UTI format). In order to display this in the Astrolabe I would need to code out the way that the game reads these blueprints and display the item properties in the Astrolabe in the exact same way.
The amount of work this would involve likely would not be worth the benefits of it unfortunately, though there are some other options that we could look at and I will discuss with the team. They are:
When we compile modules have a tool that exports UTI to another readable format for the web (JSON) which includes description and properties. There may be some tools for this that already exist, not 100% sure at the moment.
With some other work I am doing we may be able to make it so that in the future contributors can edit a description and upload an image for any crafting recipe. If this were implemented it could mean that the Astrolabe crafting compendium would have all the info for any item (after the effort of adding it all in the first place) and we would update that instead of the wiki.
Both are a fairly large amount of work but we may be able to do something. I have a big feature I am finishing for the Astrolabe that I need to get rolled out, then I can look into this further.

Thanks so much! If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. I love the compendium and I'd love to not have to use the wiki. Especially since not all recipes can be found there either.

Re: Crafting compendium details
I would like there to be an option to search item by name or ID as an input rather than only as output, please. Thanks.
