The Black Wyvern

Post by D4wN »

Last night's Black Wyvern battle and subsequent events from it were possibly amongst one of the best DM events I have seen over the years.

DM Herald proved to be very flexible and open to the creative ideas our group of players came up with including the involvement of another DM's NPCs. RL days and many hours of planning and meetings seemed at first to be for nothing and I wasn't all too confident we would succeed, feeling even like we were being set up to fail. But this plot ended up having everything from forcing characters to doubt their decisions, to moral conflicts (internally and with each other) to multiple heroes getting time to shine all the while having a very challenging encounter with hostiles. The players ended up working together really well too and I feel like we had just the right amount of people involved.

Never before had a DM event end in tears for me. But the ending of this part of the plot involving the slaves managed just that. It was touching, emotional and beautiful.

To DM Herald, DM Avalon Soul (and hidden DMs I do not know about) and all the players involved from Cordor and beyond, thank you for an incredible story. This will definitely go down as one I will remember for years to come.

I can only offer my thanks to the players of Seitera and Domila for trying to be inclusive in recent days, the effort is/was appreciated!

Had a lot of derpy fun with this one. Would have preferred the fight to be on a weekend, but apart from that good time and good story. Had a lot of people out on the waves that usually aren't sailors and maybe got some interested in becoming one. Appreciate it!

I am glad Cordor could have such an interesting event and I especially appreciate the inclusive efforts of Freya's player here (:

I had a huge amount of fun, and it provided some very serious kickbacks for my character that she will not easily get over in the weeks and months to come. Thank you so much to the DM team, and everyone involved!

I'm echoing the shoutout to Freya's player too, she worked so hard to be inclusive and make sure everyone had a role to play, and I know it was a huge strain with everyone IC'ly doubting decisions made as well, so kudos to her for sticking with it. I'm genuinely not sure what we're going to do with our 'free time' now that it's done.

Ssaerth's still out there though.

Always. Bringing people into plotlines is something I always try to do with Domila.
