Would it be possible to add a few craftable "Study Bench" fixtures that can only be placed in established libraries that offer a mechanic similar to fishing (with the progress bar and all) that allow one to find scrolls, books and loot like the magical libraries in dungeons?
Each attempt would require spending cheap craftable "Research papers", then passing a lore DC (similar to the one for finding additional library items) and deducting some crafting points once successful so you can't just do this forever.
When the DC is passed, the crafting points are deducted, the character would gain loot just as if they had opened a library and rolled the loot matrix.
Research papers, lore and crafting point requirements + crafting the benches themselves are so this doesn't just become an "inflation generator" with people creating more and more loot out of thin air. Maybe there could be different quality research benches that require higher tier crafting components, and perhaps research benches could have a limited number of uses after which you have to craft a new one.
The idea behind this is to give loremasters a way to "Research" for books, scrolls, and other loot inside peaceful libraries without having to go out into the world to sack dungeon libraries. These libraries are so overcrowded nowadays that queues start to form, with players having to wait in line to be the next to rob the npcs of their books, and you have lvl 30's competing with writ-workers to assault the whole place.
