The Sibayad Update

Post by perseid »

It only just dropped but the work is obvious and the stuff that's been added that I've found so far has been really cool! And that's before getting into the new systems like the pet system! Really awesome update.

I am so excited about this. A PVP-neutral surface settlement that allows monsters to be present? I've already seen great bridled hostility and tension in interactions, while still respecting the setting. The RP opportunities are going to be wiiiild. I keep editing this post because it's hard to say how happy I am about this update and all the opportunities it brings.

Pet shop! Gambling hall! Bazaar! The guildhouses! A library! And the music. I've only scratched the surface (harhar) in exploring outside the town I was too busy RPing last night.

Huge respect for all the work that has gone into the update and the post-launch bug-fixes for all the weird things. 84+ people on Distant Shores last night. That is crazy.

Also, pretty sure the bath house should be scry-proof, ya creeps.

I could write an essay on all the great things this Update brings to Arelith, but I'll save you all from my poor grammar and spelling. That's just how kind I am. Instead, let me say THANK YOU to Irongron and the Team. We SO needed a surface-neutral area where evil, non-monsters could gather and have their chance at settlement RP. So, yeah . . . thank you again!

This is really cool, I look forward to seeing how this shakes up the server. The town updates are beautiful, I really like the golden alley. A lot of mysterious and interesting shops there. Will be interesting to see who ends up running the library and what they do with it. There's a lot of people wanting to start guilds in Sibayad now, it should be a lot of fun seeing how everything turns out once the dust settles a bit.

The no monsters allowed in the bath house made me laugh. XD

The music is fire.
Adds very much to the atmosphere of the place.
The place being initially isolated ensures that any one visiting is likely well travelled already.

Its kinda annoying at first though, since I often find it hard to find sailing expeditions. But when you do get there, atleast there's the portals.

Cant wait to explore the place fully.
Sandworms maybe?

So let me preface with this, I love the whole update.

But it has also allowed for some hilarious situations.
Like the moment the two Lathanderites walked into a bar.

Velasco Durante: "I swear if it's..."
Velasco Durante: A click of his tongue "Yeah, I should've expected that honestly"
Ryana Durante: Let's um... go back outside.

I was in tears laughing. If this was one of my first interactions there, imagine the possibilities the rest of it has!

Winifred Rhoswen: "He said good things. Even said ye weren't a Paladin when I asked!"
Ryana: "Not a paladin." I'll take that as a compliment.

Can't really explain why but ...

It's so cool!!!

Something about how it feels ... Natural? Fluid? Something like that definately. And yeah, feels both enticing and dangerous at the same time. Love it.

Particularly love the feeling in the golden alley. So great!

Many thanks!
