+Introduction+
This book is an account of what occurred with the Weatherstone early in the year of 182 AR. It is being written from both dozens of reports as well as personal experience with having been present at the Weatherstone itself for around two months throughout the duration of the Crisis.
The Weatherstone itself is no ordinary artifact, but rather a weapon that is druidic in nature.
Confirmed by the last Sky Druid, She-Who-Loves, it was placed there to be used as weapon against the enemies of the Sky Druids and of nature. This stone has the ability to not only change the weather as that is a secondary effect, but to also summon great storms, tsunamis, droughts and torrents of fire. To use it is to use nature itself and potentially throw the cycle out of balance. That's why its usage even for the most mundane weather changes is dangerous and not recommended. In this book, it shall be detailed not only how powerful the Weatherstone is when misused but also why it needs to be respected.
+Chapter 1: The Prison Below+
As stated in the introduction, the Weatherstone was placed there to be used by the Sky Druids. However, unbeknownst to them at the time was that something else was already on the peak of this mountain.
Long ago, before the Sky Druids placed this artifact, a group of elven mages and druids had gathered upon the plateau. With them was a human druid of the Cow Totem, Aiden. Their goal was not simple, as in the distance and coming towards them was a Primordial Entity of Air and Water. The size of a hurricane, it was fast approaching and if not stopped it would devastate not only Arelith, but likely the coast of the mainland if not further. Its name was a combination of Aquan and Auran, 'Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai' or translated as 'Wrathful Sea Meets Sky'.
They had come together to perform a ritual to trap this Primordial being within the Mountain where it could no longer do any harm. The ritual itself took twelve participants. However, there was an extra layer to this magic. Each ritualist must trust one another completely or else the ritual may fail. One of the elves present was wary of the human druid, however they continued on with the ritual in effort to stop the Primordial as they had reached the last hour with this sentient hurricane coming over the horizon. Because of this elf's contempt in her heart for Aiden the ritual was only partially successful, though they may not have known what was to happen in many centuries' time. Instead, what they did know was Aiden was targeted by this buried hatred for his kind and was killed in the ritual where he attempted to save so many others.
With Aiden now dead and buried at the mountain peak and Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai trapped within its walls, the prison was formed... and left there. For a time.
+Chapter 2: The Malfunction+
Centuries after Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai's imprisonment and the Sky Druids having built and placed the Weatherstone, it was a well-known item of wonder and mystery to the denizens of Arelith. The majority thought it was merely to change the Weather and its history was lost to time. The Weatherstone had only been used as a weapon a scant few times since the days of the Sky Druids, those with its knowledge safe-guarding it to prevent yet more abuse.
Abuse, it did suffer. Many ill-intentioned individuals had found the Weatherstone and attempted to use it for nefarious purposes. To bring about eternal winters, to cause massive wide-spread droughts or even attempting to bash and destroy this precious artifact. Over the years the Weatherstone withstood it all with aid from its precious guardians. This all changed early in the year of 182 AR. An unnamed unseelie, a fey of ice, had decided to curse the Weatherstone to begin acting erratically. While the people of Bendir Dale had gone to see it fixed, the fey offered one of them a deal. Nora Thorn, a halfling of Bendir, entered a pact with this fey in exchange for 'fixing' the curse it had laid upon the Stone. While her good intentions are clear, what was to come made this decision moot as the fey did not actually fix the Weatherstone at all. Rather, the damage had already been done and the fey 'covered up' what was occurring while the Weatherstone was still damaged. This metaphorical bandage would only last so long as nobody else manipulated the Weatherstone.
The Weatherstone's ability is a reaction caused by a release of energy. Every time it is used energy is released from the Weatherstone and by proxy drawn from the prison below it. With each use, the prison was weakening and this was the way it had been for hundreds of years since the Weatherstone's placement and the accidental connecting to the prison of Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai. The fey accelerated this outpouring of energy, but it is important to keep in mind that as long as the Weatherstone was being idly used by people regardless of their intention, at some point the prison would have become weak enough for the Primordial to break through with or without the fey's help.
Because this unseelie only hid what they had done in their successful effort to form a pact with a mortal, the next people to come upon the Weatherstone were Samantha Goodman, a human scholar from Guldorand and Larkspur the gnome. Following a debate about what the Weatherstone was originally intended for, Goodman had taken Larkspur to the Stone in order to showcase its Weather-Changing abilities. As the energy was released the damage was once again revealed and the Weatherstone was truly in a bad state. Lava began to fill the valley below as an oppressive heat rose from it.
A shaman who often patrolled the area, Zalata Reva, had stumbled upon the Weatherstone's current state moments after the lava appeared and she called for a druid who was known to protect the Weatherstone, Juniper Oakley. The matters of the fey at this point were unknown, with confusion running rife as to why it had malfunctioned and why the lava appeared. It was Reva who decided to commune with the lesser-known grave that was in front of the Weatherstone's Dolmen arches, an at-the-time unknown druid who's spirit was said to protect the Weatherstone. This spirit was in fact Aiden the Cow Totem who's story was not yet known, who offered insight into what must be done to repair the stone. The Sky Druid, She-Who-Loves, also came when she noticed the drastic changes around the peak, confirming the Weatherstone as a weapon that was never meant to be tampered with this way.
This was the beginning of the Weatherstone Crisis. Centered around the Weatherstone directly, it did not effect the rest of the island at this time as the energy that was pouring out had a shorter range. While the others left to their various cities to begin researching potential solutions, Oakley had decided to stay to ensure no others would tamper with the stone in its fragile state.
+Chapter 3: The Island-Wide Disaster+
With the Weatherstone's effects centered around the stone itself, the damage was minimal. A few people had come up to the Weatherstone upon hearing about its malfunction, a camp erected around it for its protection and this group of people soon after dubbed the 'Weatherstone Guardians'.
In the late hours, two days after the original malfunction accidentally caused by Goodman, someone with more ill intentions arrived to the Weatherstone as the Guardians lay sleeping. A faithful of the Lady of Pain by the name of Eppi approached the stone and began to touch it. Attempting to either break it or use it is uncertain as her answers on her actions seemed to change frequently.
Due to Eppi's actions, it opened the flow of energy from the Prison below wider which was causing more of the Weatherstone's abilities to spread further and take a wider effect. While as before the Weatherstone's weather abilities could not reach the coast even prior to the malfunction, they now were with devastating results. Bendir Dale, the City of Cordor, the Hold of Brogendenstein and the Crow's Nest were now effected by the Weatherstone's fluctuations and this time it was in the form of water. The streets began to flood, houses came underwater and there was no sign of it stopping any time soon. A scholar and mage of the Arcane Tower, Rebecca Bookbinder, had arrived to examine the stone and determine why its energy had so vastly expanded from one woman's touch.
It was determined that with each person to attempt to manipulate the stone, the tear that was bleeding out these energies from the Prison would only grow wider. Should it be left alone Arelith would last a few months with these fluctuations before the Primordial would inevitably be released. However, if it was tampered with a few more times those months would turn into a matter of days.
As time went on, this pattern continued. A seelie fey had arrived at the Weatherstone believing themself to have the right to touch and try to fix the Stone, despite multiple warnings from the Guardians to not do so. Despite his good intentions, not long after he touched the stone, the Weatherstone's effects grew once more with Guldorand and Sibayad now effected by the weather abnormalities, leaving the island in a state of ruin.
The island was going through cycles of these extreme weathers. Torrential downpours that put whole cities underwater, harsh freezes that killed livestock or innocents on the street within a matter of seconds and hot oppressive heat that caused flames to spark to life and take over in the forests. All of them with their own challenges, each as deadly as the last. This was due to the Weatherstone likely detecting that the weather was out of balance and in an attempt to correct itself it overcompensated because of the excess energy it carried. This lead the island going from one extreme to the next in rapid succession.
Now that the Weatherstone's effects were felt all over Arelith and the Weatherstone not being a secret by any means, dozens of people began to flock to it in an attempt to learn about what occurred, why it happened and how it could be fixed. The majority of them took up vigil at the Weatherstone with the small camp quickly converting into a full garrison with written temporary 'Rules', around-the-dial watches and others who were constantly ferrying supplies such as food and water. Given time was not on their side should the Weatherstone be abused even just once more, the Guardians began to strike down anyone who moved too close to it with this intention. The presence of the Weatherstone Guardians in the coming weeks would soon be seen as a boon in favour of protecting the Weatherstone.
+Chapter 4: Furies, Cultists, and Andunorians+
It wasn't just citizens of the various effected cities who noticed the weather extremes across the island. Word quickly spread above and below about the Weatherstone's delicate state and many groups with ill intentions took interest in them.
The first was a group of Aurilites. Revering the cold wintery weather they had approached the Weatherstone during one of the icy weather fluctuations stating it was a sign to bring about the eternal winter once more. They did not listen to the Guardians when it was explained the snow won't stay long nor would trying to misuse the Weatherstone ensure it would, but rather would risk the entire island and bring death to thousands of people. Believing themselves to know better, seemingly a theme with the Weatherstone, things came to blows atop the mountain in the center island not far from the stone itself. While the Aurilites were unsuccessful, it was not the last time they would be coming to blows with the Guardians and Defenders. Some weeks after this initial engagement they returned, but with the Talassians and Malarites joining their ranks. Several military groups of each settlement were present known as the Defense that would be called during times of endangerment, as well as the Guardians themselves. Manticores were part of the Furies' battle group as well as long-range bombards. Eventually they were felled with some damage to the structure around the Weatherstone, but not the stone itself.
Next was a cultist. Thankfully the only one of his kind at the Weatherstone itself, however he was part of a group from beneath Guldorand who had heard of the Weatherstone and were worshipping it as to bring about 'the end of the World'. While he was successfully lied to and making his way elsewhere, he had fallen into the lava that was dominating the region that day. Given he never returned to his fellow cultists, it is thought perhaps that may be why they never showed up.
Lastly, the Andunorians. A devout follower of the Darkbringer Moander was a half-orc Tyrant named Dhraknar. Though it caused tension within Andunor as many of the denizens below recognized the issues the failure to repair the Weatherstone would bring to their own doorstep, Dhraknar in his addled mindset did not seem to care much about the potential loss of life but rather reveled in it. Along with his military members of the Sharps District, they marched up towards the Weatherstone with two intentions. The first was to curse the Weatherstone with the Rot of Moander. The second, was to capture Oakley from her position organizing the Weatherstone Guardians. A druid named Terrela had spotted them down the mountain where she went to warn the Guardians. Given the advanced warning, the Andunorians were vastly outnumbered with their entire party falling and being given back to Andunor for ransom with the help of Lefric Ruston of Cordor.
+Chapter 5: The Shadowplane Leak+
Strangely enough, it seems that the weather extremes were not the only strange instances to be produced from the malfunctioning Weatherstone. While the ice, water and fire were on a somewhat predictable pattern, a singular instance stands out from that cycle. Like the original malfunction, it involved a fey and it is speculated to be the exact same unseelie that started it all.
It started when Aberran, a gloaming male from Cordor working with the Guardians, had come to visit when the fey forcefully altered his mind and memories. Juniper Oakley was seen kneeling at the Weatherstone when Aberran became erratic due to the fey's manipulations, stating he must kill her. Though several of the Guardians were trying to hold him back, he was yelling that he was being told to kill her and raving about fey and shadows. After failed attempts to shield his mind, one of the Guardians Cal Quinn had knocked Aberran unconscious, at which point Oakley vanished. It was found out some hours later that this Oakley was a clever illusion by the fey as the real one had been sleeping in a tent nearby.
Aberran was soon awoken at an island connected to the Weatherstone. He spoke of seeing a snow fey matching the description of the original unseelie telling him to kill Oakley and that he thinks something got into his head. As this was being explained, the Coronal of Myon Elinde's body was suddenly seen at the Weatherstone and the Weatherstone itself became cloaked in shadow. Three illusions of those present appeared and were attacked. Once they fell, the same unseelie appeared to the Guardians trying to call all of this a 'game'. Quinn followed the fey, chasing it out of the area and cornering it. It finally admitted that Oakley was asleep and that the Coronal Elinde was atop the tree in Myon. Eventually the fey did fully escape, throwing the Coronal's crown towards another Guardian as Oakley and Elinde were both checked on to confirm their safety. It was later found that the fey had infiltrated Aberran's mind and formed the shadow clones of the three Guardians due to it having heard their names more often. Fey are known to use names as things of power, with this instance being proof of such.
Unfortunately, Coronal Elinde was found by Regent Harwaev'vyll, known to her friends as 'Wavey' but she was already deceased atop the tree in Myon. Not only had the Coronal been murdered by this unseelie and its shadows but the Weatherstone's draw was now outpouring shadow energies. Though Aberran was removed from the Weatherstone temporarily and taken to Cordor to seek aid for the invasion upon his mind, the other Guardians were now dealt a new problem to navigate- being unable to see. The island was cast in a cloak of shadow, the sun unable to pierce through as the Shadowplane was bleeding into the Prime. This is suspected to have been possible due to the already-existing leak to the Shadowplane within Wharftown, having been amplified heavily with the Weatherstone's magic.
With the island cloaked in darkness, other creatures began to spill from it. Ghouls, shades and other undead were swarming the cities from Guldorand to Cordor and all in-between. Minmir was soon overrun with these abominations and settlements such as Bendir and the Radiant Heart had their hands full quelling the waves of the undead on their doorsteps. Thankfully, this change only lasted a few days as the Weatherstone once again was trying correct the 'weather' only to over compensate and bring it back to the other more natural extremes.
+Chapter 6: Arcane Cannisters, A Gamble With Time+
While the Guardians were protecting the Weatherstone itself and Researchers working on the solution, there was another glaring issue being looked into by a dedicated mage and her associates, Narr Nolkus. Asking the Arcane Tower for aid, Nolkus had made a deal with them to provide Arcane Cannisters that would help absorb the excess energy from the Weatherstone and hopefully negate it between them at set points along the dolmen surrounding the stone. As explained by Rebecca Bookbinder while delivering the cannisters, the use of these devices came at a cost. With four cannisters in total, for each one used it would be drawing from the Prison below at a faster pace. The payoff for this would be that the Weatherstone's sphere of influence would shrink and withdraw from the settlements.
It was a hefty price to pay, however with some of the settlements now being uninhabitable due to their rising waters at the time, they were put in place and activated to afford them some relief during the cycle of downpour.
This break did not last long, as in the battle against the Furies three of the four cannisters were destroyed not even half a day after their activation. One cannister was left to do the leg work which afforded little relief to the settlements below.
Thankfully with the work of Ayra Peterson and Narr Nolkus, they were able to somewhat create another two cannisters. Weaker in design and not as powerful as the originals but able to carry some of the weight.
Due to the nature of how these Arcane Cannisters were meant to work and one of them being more powerful than the other two, it seemed in the process of activation that they were misaligned. This caused an intense flooding at the Weatherstone itself, where the water beforehand remained below the small platforms, it was now rising over the platforms and covering the small islands and bridges along with the Weatherstone. Given the cycle of Rain, Snow, and finally Lava, this was a state of emergency for the Guardians. Ice of such temperature could potentially destroy the stone while Lava would certainly do so, to make no mention of the Guardians who would surely lose their own lives. Having to swim from island to island, Peterson, Nolkus and the mages of House Loslansiran were able to realign the cannisters correctly. This came at a great cost.
With two of the cannisters of lower quality and only three in total, they would only work for roughly a fortnight before either they would need to be shut off and the few settlements protected were back under the influence of the Weatherstone, or the Primordial would break free. The island of Arelith was running out of time.
+Chapter 7: The Four Stones+
Throughout the Weatherstone Crisis while the Guardians maintained the protection of the Stone itself, another group called the Weatherstone Researchers were looking into viable ways to repair the stone as well as digging up its history. Through a combination of recovering lost archives, forgotten tomes and visions from the Spirit of the Cow Totem Aiden were the Guardians and Researchers able to put the pieces of history together, learning of the Prison below and that four particular stones were used in the rituals to trap Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai.
Five separate tomes were said to detail the making of these stones written by a Mister Emeris Grail. In these tomes Grail explained the creation of the Stones and what they did in vague terms, though given how long ago they were written they were simply hints as to where to find these stones in 182 AR. Thanks to the work of the Researchers, primarily Yuanjun Lai and Ivrathe Kazraat who lead the efforts, all five tomes were found and the search for the stones began.
The first of these stones was well known, a large gem akin to an emerald known as the Heartstone that had resided in the Heartwood Grove for years, cared for and tended to by the druids who lived there. The other three remained a mystery for the majority of the Crisis. The Druid Saorlaith of the Greenseers called a moot with the Grove and they agreed to lend the Heartstone to the efforts to repair the Weatherstone with the agreement that it was returned immediately for their protection. Removing the Heartstone from its place in the Grove can cause mass devastation as it upheaves the balance of the forest. At great personal risk to themselves and the forest, the Druids of the Heartwood worked together with the Researchers as Kazraat was tasked with its stewardship to the Weatherstone, and back.
The second to be obtained was the Lovestone. The Lovestone was a large gem that looked like a ruby and when held it would amplify most people's emotions. It was found to have been in the safe possession of the Spirit of the Mountain, a kindly fey spirit who resided within the mountain the Weatherstone was on top of. To reach her and ask for a blessing, in this case to ask to borrow the Lovestone, a couple had to pass through a trial. These trials were known for Sky Druids and Honourary Sky Druids to perform in order to obtain their titles, but in this instance the Sky Druid Veisha Calan accompanied the hopeful pairs as they went to undertake the trial for the Stone. Of the three pairs, two of them succeeded through the trials that tested their resolve, love and friendship. Lord Thomas Castemont and Cal Quinn, a pairing of brotherly friendship, had won the trial at the forefront and asked the Spirit of the Mountain for the Lovestone which they received. The Spirit of the Mountain had two conditions for this; the first being that the Lovestone would be returned to her domain in the mountains after its use in repairing the Weatherstone, the second being that a druid or fey carry the Lovestone as its effects are lesser on those who are attuned with nature. As the successful pair returned, the Lovestone was put into the guardianship of the druid Oakley.
The Soulstone was the third to be obtained and it took a good amount of effort to do so. This stone took the appearance of a large diamond and is said to have an effect on life, however the details of it are vague and lost to time. Following a series of hints like a maddening treasure hunt and lead by the Researcher Yuanjun Lai of Soulhaven, the Soulstone was eventually found to be in the possession of Lord Gordon, a Sharran mage of considerable power and nefarious inclination who resides within the Shadowplane. This was no cause for celebration as not only was the Soulstone in pieces and therefore non-functional, but in order to obtain the pieces and find a way to repair them, Gordon gave the group who had gone to retrieve them a choice. If they wished for the shards of the Soulstone, they must either kill the Spirit of the Mountain in cold blood or return the reformed Soulstone to him in the Shadowplane. This caused strife amongst both the Researchers, and the Guardians. Neither choice was ideal considering if the Spirit of the Mountain was slain it would spell devastation for the mountain she presided over and throw the natural balance there into chaos. With a heavy heart, the majority agreed to return the Soulstone to Lord Gordon. Many factions involved swore to retrieve it or slay Gordon upon the Weatherstone's repair, but before any of that could be done the Soulstone itself needed to be reformed.
This was done with a group of both Researchers and Guardians as the warlock of the Arcane Tower, Thaldrin Bloodshroud, opened a portal to the domain of the Soulstone's main creator, a ancient elemental of air known as Ilmera of the East. Another trial was to be undertaken to prove themselves worthy of having the Soulstone at all, let alone repaired. These trials were ones of honesty and of facing one's true soul and mindset. Unlike the trial for the Lovestone, should one of the group fail and prove unworthy through their honesty or chose to lie, they would fall through the clouds and to the ground far below Ilmera's domain. Of the eight within the group to go through the trial, six of them were successful as two plummeted to the ground. In return, Ilmera repaired the Soulstone and also confirmed the last stone thought to be in the group's possession as a fake. The Soulstone from then on was put into the care of the Shadovar Kalathele upon request from Gordon that one of the shadows must carry it.
The Dreamstone, which was the last of the stones to be acquired and takes the appearance of a sapphire. It is said that when holding or peering into the Dreamstone reality becomes warped and 'dreamlike', though any other effects of the Dreamstone is unknown. The quest to procure the Dreamstone was the longest as the Researchers were waylaid with false leads. One of these false leads was a mysterious stone from the Gnomish Grotto under Brogendenstein that was held in their possession since the time of the Spriggan War and taken to Ilmera of the East in their domain. When asked if it was truly the Dreamstone they had sought, the group was told it was not of their creation. The hunt for the Dreamstone began anew with Quinn taking charge for following a trail of breadcrumbs over the course of several days. With the Weatherstone's ultimate destruction fast approaching and the island running out of time, this group of Researchers, Guardians and even enemies were working together tirelessly to locate the stone. The Stone was found with the aid of the Andunorian faction, the Erudite Arcanum, and a clan of kobolds known as the Shadowclaw. The search took this group through not only the plane of Pandemonium, but also the Underdark and a city where only drow were welcomed. Finally a woman of Earthkin origin was set to meet them upon an island on the surface. The Stone was handed to a dwarf in their company, charged with its protection until the ritual and its safe return to the gnomish woman afterwards.
All four stones were finally found and in possession of the people of Arelith who were ready for the final steps. As they prepared to cast the ritual, knowing now about the twelve participants needed and trust between them being essential, a warning had come along with the Dreamstone to the Guardians of the Weatherstone.
+Chapter 8: A Primordial Decision+
As the Dreamstone came into possession of those working to repair the Weatherstone, so too did a warning. The Primordial Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai had long been awake within his prison, biding his time and watching the Guardians as they were frantic in their attempt to keep him entrapped. This was done with the idea that if the ritual was done correctly with the twelve participants who trusted one another completely, that the prison would take hold eternally. Unfortunately this was not the case. Because of the energy already lost from the Weatherstone drawing upon the Prison, trapping Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai a second time to ensure he was not released would only prolong what was now the inevitable.
Another difficult decision was laid out before Arelith and those fighting for its safety. Continue with the same ritual in an effort to keep Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai imprisoned for an indeterminate amount of time in which he would in fact break free with no way to stop it, even with the stones that might be lost to history in the future, or alternatively release Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai purposely and face him there and then with a small chance of success. This was the only route that could spare the future generations an end that could not be avoided.
Collectively the Guardians, Researchers, and all of those who had come to Arelith's defense across the island from every settlement imaginable chose to face the Primordial entity rather than risk the future of Arelith falling to devastation due to cowardice.
+Chapter 9: The Final Battle+
As the sun began to set over the watery horizon of the Weatherstone, twelve individual ritualists took up their places around the dolmen surrounding the Weatherstone. The arcane mage Narr Nolkus, and the Sky Druid Veisha Calan worked together in both preparing the ritual and picking the participants with their relationships held close in mind. This was no easy task with the tensions that were running high all over the island due to the stress and devastation.
As four of the twelve held up their Stones, they incanted together a ritual of great power, speaking in time and casting with one another in a singular fluid movement to achieve what they desired.
The ritual itself had three parts, the first being to separate the Weatherstone from the Primordial's Prison and severing its connection to cease its draw upon the Prison's energies.
The second part was to heal the Weatherstone itself. Using all four stones in harmony to achieve balance, the Weatherstone's malfunction was repaired and its outpour of energy stopped completely. At this time one of the ritualists, a druid and seer, rushed forward who was familiar with the Weatherstone and conjured forth the lake of Lava in hopes to use against the Primordial as its opposing element.
The third part of the ritual was the last step in this saga. Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai was released from its imprisonment and was soon set upon the island, where a battle for the entirety of Arelith took place in many different regions.
Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai was the size of a large hurricane. There was not a place in Arelith one could be where they did not see this entity and it made its fury known. With its size it was able to attack many different areas at once, with one limb attacking near Cordor, another near Minmir and so on. Its head and body were loomed over the mountain of the Weatherstone where it was calling in fury for the Cow Druid, Aiden. It was lead away from the sea of lava as everyone on Arelith collectively worked together to try and sever these limbs stretched wide across the lands.
As its limbs were removed, its body fell hard and its head landed somewhere beyond the Dark Heart Jungles. Not yet vanquished, the denizens of Arelith rushed towards it and it was finally felled by a stroke of amazing magic from the magus Lord Nyros Rivorndir who cursed it with rot that overtook its form.
Everything was still for a time after Kiezyaoohlm'Sapaqey-Pppbl'zas'Sai took its last breath and fell silent. The Weatherstone had been repaired, the prison emptied of its captive and the great wrath within ended once and for all. With the Primordial being permanently out of the way, the future of Arelith is much safer in regards to the Weatherstone. Hopefully the lessons of respecting such an artifact remain and its dangers not forgotten.
+Bonus Chapter: Fun Facts!+
A collection of random facts about occurrances during the Weatherstone Crisis, as a fun bonus chapter!
+A gnomish peddler by the name of Lore set up a 'Weatherstone Love Connections' service just outside the Guardian's Camp. She also sold commemorative blankets during the freezes.
+Juniper Oakley was elected the 'Mayor of Weatherville' at the Weatherstone as a running joke. Her first decree was making everyone 'Landed Nobility'.
+The original team to go to Ilmera of the East's Realm was Alyssia Kinsley, Cal Quinn, Juniper Oakley, Lady Rosette de Leon, Kalathele, Adiminen Crane, Lord Krassus Loslansiran and Bengus Madbeard.
+The secondary couple to successfully pass the Spirit of the Mountain's trial and become honourary Sky Druids was the married couple Ronan and Akita Murdock. Ronan asked for a ring to help defeat Lord Gordon as his prize.
+During the Weather abnormalities in Cordor, Lady Chancellor Ginny Rivorndir would often send messages to the Guardians at the Weatherstone to 'complain about the Weather Service' as a way to relieve tension among them and make them laugh.
+A dwarf named Mocla Goldenaxe brought fresh food to the Guardians nearly every single day, for over a month.
+Due to the nature of Aiden's death, whenever those at the Weatherstone began to bicker, the sound of cows mooing would be heard and grow louder until they stopped fighting. The Cow Totem quite literally scolded the Guardians.
+An elf named Vilvasi Wen'wen set up an ice cream cart during the Lava cycles at the Weatherstone.
+Cal Quinn and Kalathele very nearly got married at the Weatherstone the night before the Primordial was released, but didn't because they decided they were "way too tired for this."
+Only one death is recorded to have been from the Lava itself and that was the Doomsday Cultist who was pushed into it by one of the Guardians, Branislav.
+A museum exhibit with a replica of the Weatherstone was erected in the Cordor Museum shortly after the Weatherstone Crisis. It displays a poem that was written during the events and lists the names of those involved in its repair and protection.
+During the efforts to obtain the Dreamstone, two Andunorians were kept as 'collateral' at the Weatherstone in effort to show collaboration and refrain from betrayal. These were Dibgub Vensurai of the Erudite Arcanum and Drik Shadowclaw.
+After the Primordial's death, the elven druid who held contempt for Aiden so long ago appeared on a giant eagle. She expressed she had felt guilt all these centuries for what she'd done and Aiden's spirit finally passed on to the afterlife. A gravestone was placed over where he was buried centuries before.
+On the 'Rules' board of the Weatherstone Camp, it had a specific rule telling others to 'Not Lick the Weatherstone' due to several people asking if that counted as touching it.
+During the wild fires in the Arelith Forest and the Bramble Woods, druids had to bodyslam the flames as Earth Elementals since the flames were too large for water alone. This tactic was used by druid Albet Lianlen later on during a Cordorian Fire.
+In the final battle against the Primordial, wild mage Cinders Char managed to turn its leg into a cow.
+While the Primordial was roaring for the Cow Druid in anger, Juniper Oakley loudly moo'd at it while waving her arms before fleeing to draw it down the mountain and through the lava. It worked.
+Lord Nyros Rivorndir's killing blow was not only a complete stroke of divine luck, but also done so swiftly that the majority of the fighters hadn't even arrived yet.
+When the Arcane Cannisters were destroyed, House Loslansiran created and devised a shadow shield to be deployed over one of the settlements to protect it from the extreme weather. While it didn't last long then, this same shield was used over the Cordorian Palace during a state of emergency later on.
+The waters in Guldorand, Cordor and Bendir Dale became so deep that sharks were swarming the streets from the sea and attacking people. Freeport in particular was completely submerged and overrun with them.
