Grodd goblins get -2 dex on creation

Post by yom »

Description of Bug Experienced:
Creating a grodd goblin PC on the PGCC resulted in -2 dex once the award was used.
Grodd description is

  • Grodd Goblin (Requires Normal Award):
    • Alignment: Non-Good & Non-Chaotic
    • Stats: -2 STR, +2 INT (or -2 STR, +2 WIS with Bloodline of the Adept) note: ingame this says -2 int, +2 WIS for bloodline
    • ECL: +0
    • Feats: Darkvision, Small

Steps to reproduce the Bug:
created multiple other characters to test if this was a class problem, but it was the same across all classes tested (spellsword, harb, swash)
checked and made sure to choose "none" as bloodline

Expected Result:
retain alotted dex from base race racial bonus

Actual Result:
lost 2 dex after using award

other notes:
choosing the bloodline of the adept makes you lose -2 int as listed ingame but you'll still lose the dex from the award race choice

I'm not entirely sure, because I won't be able to test for a while, but if they are base race hafling, then the Dex loss is intended. It's -2str +2int/wis. They get no Dex bonus, so the base race Dex bonus is lost.

I think I see what you mean. The base race being goblin (based off halfling) gets -2 and +2 dex but with no change to base stats. Grodd Goblin said the same so I assumed it kept the base race of goblin and since the wiki said there was no change to base stats for Grodd Goblin then the dex penalty wasn't intended
