I'd love to see a lot of the original NWN voice sets and the last batch kind of organized to type but without any distracting information or characterization for the especially broad voicesets that are not overtyped. What I mean by this is:
Daelan Redtiger's voices was not made for a player despite being a fully lined soundset. It's name uses his name - if you never played the campaign you would not know he was an Uthgardt Barbarian of the Red Tiger tribe. His soundset(s) could be renamed instead to
Male, Red Tiger Uthgardt for the OG campaign and Male, Red Tiger Uthgardt (Alt) for the HotU version.
Further you could also label which voicesets are "full" and which are "partial".
So Daelan's new voicests would go from the above to: Male, Red Tiger Uthgardt [FULL] - Male, Red Tiget Uthgardt (alt) [FULL]
Then you take a partial voiceset like Halaster. You'd rename it to Male, Dramatic Rhymer [PART].
Any new voice sets you follow the same process - just giving them clearcut labels that relate to the core theme - and if the name it already has is close to this convention but is misleading or wrong like one of my favorite voicesets: Elf, Male, Wizard - you give it something more appropriate. This voiceset in particular just name drops Mystra a lot which is fine. But there is nothing about it that specifically types it to a wizard or an elf. So I would call it Male, Mystran Devout (PART). Many of the typed "Dwarven" voicesets have almost nothing that says they are dwarves.
Anything that might work for either gender or might be typed to monster just add new (like "Uni" or "Both" for a voiceset that works for either gender) and better labels (even though there does not appear to be an option to enable a voiceset for both genders on creation, it just helps in case someone wants to have a link to find it) - and the new name conventions could be directly tied to a list on the forums/in game so people have a better list with the # associated with it. Male, Aasimar, Taint Cleanser being #1 and so forth.
Lastly - I think some voice sets might be "overtyped" and could be edited with very little effort or made alternatives for by just copying the .sff file and substituting a few or just editing the .wave associated w/ the .sff file.
Deekin is an amazing little guy but he drops his name like pokemon. It would be much better if he had his name drops edited out or replaced with his own dialogue which already exists in the game also in .wav to make new, less typed lines. In that way you could take a Deekin voiceset and turn it from just Deekin to: Male, Imbecile Bard [FULL] or if his lines indicate he is a scaley just to Male, Reptilian, Imbecile Bard [FULL].
I also hope eventually that new voicets and existing ones with buggy ones could get their .tlk dialogue subtitles updated/added - and maybe even some existing ones or sounds given text because they are annoying spammable. That's all.
