When you have that temp item property bonus applied to you via rogue and fighter, MV does not seem to apply its ac properly and is often "eaten" because of it.
This is bad because it means less AC for yourself and for party members you ostensibly just wasted a precious spellslot on.
magic vestment is not intended to stack with these bonuses. it's not a bug, it's a feature of the bonus.
although i do understand the disappointment of wasting spells. i usually ask if they need/want it ICly before i apply it.
