Report Feedback Buttons

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on benefits.

Report Feedback Buttons

Post by Dreams »

At the moment players get told their report is being looked into sometimes, other times they don’t, there isn’t always feedback and we should never expect details. However, it would be good for players to know that their reports have been seen and that they’ve been handled.

I’m suggesting 2 one-click buttons get added to Astrolabe reporting.

1 - SEEN / INVESTIGATING
The button is pressed by whichever DM has taken up the case. The player only sees that their ticket is being investigated, not which DM, not any further details.

2 - RESOLVED
The button is pressed by the DM when they’ve taken action and resolved the case, or if action is not needed. The player only sees that their report has been acted on appropriately and is now resolved.

This at least gives players enough feedback to know that their reports are not slipping through the cracks and that their complaints have been heard.

RP only starts at 30 if you're a coward.

This possibility has been brought up in the past and we have no intention of adding this functionality at this time. As most players know we don't share information outside of the team regarding ongoing cases and for this reason we also can't give a status indication as this could then be used to make connections between rulings and specific cases.

We try to always send a reply to cases when a team member has seen the ticket, rarely this message is missed but typically one is sent by a DM to inform them that the report has been seen, this is intended to cover #1 noted above. For #2 we do not plan to add any way of indicating a ticket is resolved as this could be used to connect a case to a ruling against a reported player.
