I'm a 3D artist. Should we expect 2D art (for example, vector-art characters, et cetera) to be the only things wanted in this?

3d art is entirely acceptable if you can render it to a 256px x 256px PNG with transparency behind whatever the 3d elements are. The most important thing here is that it gets across the good/bad/unsure sentiment.

Is there a deadline to when submissions can be posted before the thread is locked?

Dahlia Thistlepot - Epic Weapon Focus: Sandal
Juniper Oakley - Exploring the World
Tiffa Took Hss'tafi - Happy in Sigil
Among Many Others!

We are still figuring out the deadline but it will likely be two weeks from today or longer. Hopefully that is enough time for everyone, I do plan to make another announcement once we have a date in mind.

can you show us an example of these stand in anime girls? like a picture of the whole page?
I can't seem to find where exactly this is being used and 256 by 256 seems so small.

I have added examples and this also made me realize it wasn't 256 x 256! It should actually be 512 x 512, on mobile I received a different image size than the maximum. Apologies to everyone for that I will make a follow up announcement with the added details!

Do you accept animations in webp format? Would that even work for the page?

Yes, that should also be supported. Though some platforms would be served a non-animated PNG version so keep that in mind. We might ask you after if you win to provide a still PNG and the animated WEBP. Keep file size in mind though as it needs to load fast or the user won't see anything!

The current files are roughly 30kb and we should strive to keep them under 256kb in my opinion.

I just wanted to note here that I added a detail to the contest page that we may ask to see some source files for winning submissions when the project closes if we have concern that it may be AI generated. Please do not submit AI generated content for this contest.

I've been trying to think of what to draw and finally have some ideas. I went and checked the submissions and am feeling humbled by how perfect the gelatinous cube one is.

I like all of the submissions. The animations are cute, and the bot detector series is really clever.
