To how they reset themselves. I'm seeing a tendency of not bothering caring about traps or the damage they deal.
Alternatively, make traps more dangerous, so you don't really want to just set it off, because that's just easiest as it is now. Just because you can set it off and survive it doesn't mean that should be the right approach, and it ruins the point of needing rogue lvls to deal with certain traps. We all subconsciously metagame knowing that traps only go off once.
Turn chest traps back. Or make them more dangerous
