fixture-item property: a decent night's sleep

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

fixture-item property: a decent night's sleep

Post by The Kriv »

Do you have a character that doesn't really need/care about keeping your rest-% at a level that you can rest again anytime soon?

I do. And often I find the battle to keep the rest % sufficiently above 50 during long ventures deep into the mod can be a pain in the tookas.

As a result, I end up carrying alcohol in my char's inventory so I can lower my rest % to just below 50% so that I can get one last REALLY good sleep in to push my rest-% high enough to where I can ignore it long enough to focus on the RP of the day, and not have to be all sleepy all the time. -particularly being an elf, where he really should need 1/2 the rest of the other humanoid races...

SO.. I propose an item packable in the inventory, that you can drop on the ground, like a bedroll fixture, that if you 'rest' next to it, it will keep you in the "REST" mode until your rest % rises to 75% in one single big rest.

I think having to hit the rest-button multiple times isn't so difficult, but it forces me to OOC manage my rest% just to manipulate the system so I have enough rest to continue adventuring without having the need to rest again because I (OOC) didn't rest enough when I had the chance.

-This item could be a bedroll that also possess the persistent Fixture properties to be put into people's quarters if they wished, next to their existing bed-fixture.

The item could be made available via crafting and therefore made accessible to everyone, without the dev's needing to go merchant-by-merchant to add it into the multitude of NPC merchant stores.
