-polymorph addition/True Seeing counter

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

-polymorph addition/True Seeing counter

Post by Aelryn Bloodmoon »

I'll skip is it possible, because I'm pretty sure all kinds of awesome is possible with this, and instead ask- how much work would it be to make it so that people with a prepared polymorph self/shapechange spell to assume other forms?

Specifically, I have in mind all the (base) humanoid races. While it would be cool if this caused racial stat changes, that isn't the point of the suggestion- purely aesthetic/cosmetic reasons, for the interaction of disguises and the like.

All things must have a counter- true seeing would ideally nullify this bonus upon a looks command. It would not tell you what race that person was (because we don't want to go back there, I'm guessing) but would instead tell you that they are "not necessarily as they appear."

I think this would be a lot of fun- as a bonus, it wraps up the current issue of me being able to polymorph into a fey or other suitable thing with zero ranks in disguise and not be identifiable shy of a PvP action. (This may be intentional- in which case, I uh, have plans to take care of. *Stares at Wharftown*)
