I would like to suggest the following idea to be added to the server:
Spell warding fixtures
Idea origin:
The Idea originates form current RP I am involved in.
RP Appearance:
A gnome-sized obsidian monolith with a pentacle star-pattern of 5 gems seemingly melted into the stone
Mechanics:
A craft-able heavy fixture (modeled on something akin to a column or stone sign). When placed in an area (activated by either DM or players) would generate an anti-magical null field depending on which gems were used to produce the fixture.
The fixtures script would check for a player/NPC casting of a spell (in a specified activator zone, would not work against scrying) and verify the casted spell spell-school. In case of an aligned spell school (example: Fire Opal based spell warder = anti - Evocation) the player would be applied temporary 100% arcane failure so that the spell cast is failed, or a counterspell effect would be produced by the fixture (TBD by scripter).
There would be 7 fixtures available to be made attuned against a specific spell-school
The fixtures would be produced by Art Crafters - and would require substantial amount of CP and materials (5 gems of correct color, 5 slabs of marble, 1 lead ingot and 2 mithril ingots)
The suggested gem color attunement:
Fire Opal = Evocation
Sapphire = Conjuration
Emerald = Necromancy
Diamond = Transmutation
Ruby = Abjuration
Topaz = Divination
Fire Agate = Illusion
Spell warder - fixture
