Andunor

Post by Ork »

I was caught in boredom briefly and decided to lurk through the old UD forums to see how things have changed. I was looking through the Low UD population thread and saw something startling. Players griping and posting suggestions — nothing new. Some of the suggestions though,
One thing Pit Town does well is concentrate traffic, which Udos did not do very well in it's prime, so whatever happens I hope this does not change.
Whoever designed Andunor NAILED THIS.
ONE large social center, with goblin runner, source portal, caravan access, ALL the PC-shops and NPC-shopkeepers, arena for challenges, and some access for surface people to at least some parts of the place. Tattoo parlour, goblin tricksters, slave cages and all those too.
Again, Andunor is a city that has one large social center, the Hub. Perfect design.
There's a lack of color for a place teeming with Faerzress. There's no elegant structures(or any real structures for that matter).
Andunor is a place teeming with color! From the Devil's Table to the Sharps, there's such a drastic dedication to creating elegant structure to fit the environment.

I just wanted to give kudos to the designers and creators of the UD & the Dev Team for putting up with our complaints, sifting through the chaff, and giving us a world truly developed and authentic.

Just want to chime in that Andunor is, hands-down, my favourite area of the server. It is spectacularly designed and feels deep and detailed enough to be a setting all its own. A gritty dungeonpunk setting where soaring towers for the rich and theological-corporate hegemony reigns. Oppressed underclasses fighting each other like crabs dragging one another down if one tries to break free. (Under-)Heroes who dream of unity drown as everyone tries to entice them into their own conflicting spheres of influence. It's like Casablanca, Blade Runner, and Bioshock smashed together and stuffed with UDers.

I have my own issues with how this has played out as players have interacted, but the idea of Andunor is 150% in line with my interests.
