Some ESF abilities uses components/piety AFTER it fires. Most do not, taking the cost even when you can't actually use it.
Considering that the once per day thing lasts across resets and IRL days, persisting all the way to whenever you last logged in and used that ability, I think all ESFs should only cost components/piety if and when you can actually use it. Instead of how it currently is, which is spending 5 costs only to be told "LOL, rest n00b".
