Prison system

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Prison system

Post by DSM-IV »

A horrible evil place, that drives fear into all PC's. DM"s make it this way, and us as a server community support it. Anyone acting like it isn't a big deal, are all looked upon like terrible RP'ers and their XP reward is reduced. The prison doesn't actually have to exist on the server, maybe just a building with no interior. You get sent there, your PC is out of commission for say a RL week or two. It stings sure, but when you come back you are free. You are considered ex-con, you can be discriminated against, but the exile system is gone.

The deterrent is loosing your PC for a week or two (or more if agreed upon) depending on the crime. The Guards have a week or two free of your shenanigans. Your PC gets out, they play like they just got out of the worse hellhole imaginable. Other shady character's support this and you get respect. "Yah got far Months in tha Pit? Yah ah Hard Cuttah." You are more careful with your next plots if you do any at all. The Guard force knows who has been in prison, and acts accordingly.

If you want to take this further, there is an actual prison built that prisoners can RP in. No PC Guards though, and no chance for escape.
