This thread is intended to compile all questions which one must answer by "Finding Out In-Game" (FOIG). I will try to keep up with it if it gets stickied, and edit valid entries into the original post. If something is not FOIG and gets posted here, I'm sure that either myself or someone else will be along to create a seperate thread for it in Questions & Answers.

By rule of thumbs:
If it's something in the mapping, a location, an NPC, a mechanic needed somewhere in specific, it's FOIG.
So anything that is "how do I get in.../How do I enter" is FOIG.
Anything that involves NPCs and their functions (Totem Pact, Outcaster, Kobold RDD) is FOIG.

How did you expect a thread dedicated to listing off the things that we're not supposed to know even exist end?

I propose we dedicate one day in the near future, where instead of playing nwn we play runescape. We'd predesignate a server we want to raid, all create a new character (preferably of the same theme, for extra lulz) and lead an arelith raid of runescape.

Who knows, might be great for advertising.

Ok - you got me. I wasn't going to take the bait here, but no offence, but the purpose of this thread is a bit warped at the very least.

It's a pretty sarcastic (although maybe not deliberate) attempt to defeat the purpose of FOIG, as it's pretty much a list of things you as a player will end up asking other players that know, rather than your character discovering these things in game. In an age where everything is wiki'd, it's nice to have a place you can explore without being able to resort to google first.

I didn't even know there was an npc for kobolds to get the rdd token from.
Some players have probably never heard of the astrolab
Others may not know there's an npc for warlocks and totems.

2: Probably, but sooner or later these things come up - it just takes some time, as I don't think it's meant to be an area that is easily found, or reached...

The point is that there's no point.
Specifics are always FOIG, but the existence of these things, at least to a mechanical level should not.
Specially if we were given the details of how these things work - if it's somewhere in the Update Thread, it probably can't be considered FOIG, and that's just fine because there's a line of the mystery and wonder of finding things you didn't even knew they existed and knowing what should be base mechanics; and with Arelith long-standing nature; a lot of these mechanics are very obscure and may actually just... go overhead everybody.
Lassos were implemented, yes, but even getting one may be hard at time; does that mean that their existence should be FOIG? That the way it works (which is rather complex) should be left to the players to measure and discover ICly entirely? I don't think so.

You can do so if you want.
You can either check on the information, or you can opt to not "spoil" yourself and be told exactly how.
