I really enjoyed my interactions with Oturo, few though they were. I'm sorry to hear you rolled him, but I'm looking forward to meeting your next character!

Sharo is always on - Ahem.

That aside, Oturo is incredible. It's hard to find a character with such deeply held convictions, and he's a magnificent counterbalance for poor, deeply cynical Sharo. It's a joy interacting with you, and keep Oturo doing what Oturo does.

... Even if she gets mocked for it Myon. Especially if she gets mocked for it.
May you live in interesting times.

Kudos back at you. Oturo's an awesome character, and its been really cool to watch him grow alongside those around him. Thoughtfully roleplayed orcs are rare, and always a blast when occuring.

much luv, my man cj

Also, Oturo's not rolled.

Oturo has a really well thought out story and such interesting motivations. The connection between him and Maeve is an exceptional one, which makes our RP a lot of fun. I absolutely love him.

oturoll

Post by gilescorey »

ok well now he's gone forever w/ the big roll so it's time for Detail

Lilaevera Valdenacht, and the Black Chain - I can hardly say enough, here. Without the Chain, Oturo would have been much, much less. You guys were My Boys, and I love you all, forever.

Sharo Alearee - Before Sharo, Oturo was the very much typical elf-hater. Another layer of complexity because of her. Honestly, I think if not for that happenstance meeting in the Nomad, I doubt he would've been half the character he ended up being. There was a lot of RP between him and others that wouldn't have happened if he just stayed as the 'typical elf-hater'. I drew a lot of depth from Sharo. Hell, even your writing is just lovely great.

Ilmryn - The only drow Oturo ever liked. The wise cracking doofus(?) of a drow with maybe (definitely) a couple secrets. "And Oturo's still the only one who actually like got sat down
And listened to Ilm's story just like that" It was a good time my dude. Ilm was cool.

Karerk Zirik - Phunroh. There was something incredibly satisfying about wandering with Zir. Two half orcish badasses, and there was nothing that could stop them. Also, your armour looks fine. You don't have to change it so much.

Ravennon Eliessath - the OG. Ravennon was a character I doubted Oturo would have much in common with. I was wrong. Ravennon has a lot of intricacy to him, and the player has an obvious appreciation for lore, and for characters that fit in well with it. I don't think I've ever met a character with quite so much knowledge about Thay, ever.

Borrus - heil Istishia. The ultimate companionman. Borrus had your back, whenever you needed it.

Talyrrae Xun'viir - 3v1 never forget
I've interacted with Taly on almost all of my characters, and each time she's been fun. Oturo was no exception, even the torture.

Maeve Bael'teryn - Image
There's not much else to say, but to echo this back at you. Maeve was always my favourite.

Asb'el Dore - Wee. The weird relationship between these two was fun. Asb'el confused him, irritated him, but he respected her. Usually. It was a great time, like always, with this player.

"Moryan" - Moryan (she never told him her real name!) was, in spite of her likely older age, always a daughter-like figure to Oturo. He wanted to see her succeed, so badly. Their goodbye scene was very touching. I think she's the only one to ever have the Pufferfish to Hug the bastard.

Shallan Alvere - A character I didn't quite expect to have the rather massive impact she had. Nonetheless, Shallan was pretty amazing. She's the only one, ever, to actually refute his bitter cynicism as illogical, something I didn't anticipate.

"So-the ego?" He shrugs. "Just an act. I couldn't care less."

I'm glad you didn't roll him as quick as you rolled Andy. Oturo was well developed and I believe you never broke the character. I think that there was a lesson to learn from each of their discussions and time spent together

Only slightly late responding to this thread. Nonetheless! I've made my (lofty) opinion on Oturo's RP known on many occasions. So, I'm going to do it again. I continue to be flabbergasted by your ability to cram character into a few brief lines of dialogue, and to create such a nuanced character. It's rare to find someone so committed to their beliefs and yet, in the end, still willing to change them in response to events. It's a remarkable skill, and a wonderful contrast to the chronically wordy Sharo.

I wish I could have been around a bit more towards the end, but I'm so glad we were able to give those two cynical, twisted old mercenaries the happy ending they (almost surely did not) deserve.
May you live in interesting times.
