Forever and a Day
Wow, I was not expecting this today but Claire saw her chance and took it. Today the pair died at Sencliff after Claire spiked their wine. I didn't start this character expecting her to go from silly girl to scared slave to would-be-harper but it was a crazy ride and I loved it.
Kudos to:
Victorio: He is upsetting on so many levels. He is the kind of evil that exists rather than the storybook kind. And yet he can be the opposite so gracefully. I haven't seen a CE played this well in a long while. I was very privileged to get to shape so many plots with this wonderful character.
Amadeo: I feel like I get a medal for getting a measurable reaction out of Amadeo during Claire's secret meetings with him. He is wonderful and knows exactly what to say to stab people in their sensitive spots to enact real change in them. The opportunity to have him as Claire's handler and mentor was so much fun. I would never have expected her to go to Ilmater.
Borin: This is by far one of my all time favourite characters. I cannot say enough amazing things about Borin. He manages to cram all his personality and ideals into every interaction, regardless of how small, that it makes for the most colour character ever. He was single handedly the most influential person in the girl's life. Thank you for the beautiful story telling.
Rydia: Ah, cousin. I don't think you can play a Loviatarian without using Rydia as an example. She really encompasses the duality and problematic nature of the faith and creates a dynamic and rounded out character that is a joy to interact with. These two sort of just fell into each others way but without her...Claire would have found a way off those bluffs ages ago.
Vivian, Heinrich, Elenia, Tlesk, Shauna, Lodi - There is something very special about the Sencliff family. They all find ways to stick together even when they are so far apart in so many things. The many conflicts always made for a mad house but the togetherness always broke my heart a little. Such a sad bunch. It was lovely to be a part of it all.
Drift: Ah, I never would have guessed that that one chance meeting on the streets of Cordor would have caused all of this. I love this character to bits. He is so genuine and sad...its crushing. Even though they only really got to interact during special-secret-time, it was amazing and I always looked forward to it.
Gem, Airean, Glencour and Malak - Claire didn't get the chance to hang out repeatedly with very many people but these four made being a slave not so horrible. Whether they were helping one another, just trying to lighten the mood or out to stop the evils together...it was lovely and sad. Thank you for it.
Thank you to all the DMs that helped with this roller coaster of a story.

Arawen was proud of Claire and the bravery she had, sadly they never got to spend much time together.

i went to sleep, woke up the next morning and everyone was dead
Still though, Claire was super neat and I'm peeved I didn't try and spend as much time with her as I should've.

Re: Forever and a Day
This makes me intensely sad.
I hope you play as another character friendo.

Now I am sad.
Claire was amazing in many many ways and brought a whole depth to Borin's life I did not expect.
Also, if there ever was a model to a perfectly played slave on Arelith, she was it.
I hope we cross paths on other characters some day.

Claire will always hold a special place in Airean's heart. A great character, she is.

Airean:
I've 99 problems in The Grove to solve, and you Arrinock, aren't one of them.

Who is "the pair", though?SadBunny wrote:Today the pair died at Sencliff after Claire spiked their wine.
I seriously regret I didn't get to reach out to Claire as I was going to. Even from a distance, you were absolutely amazing.
Re: Forever and a Day
If this is the end of Claire then I am also very sad. I am truly glad that she and Malak got to meet one last time, but I'm sorrowful too as i was very much hoping to continue the rp.
Claire was a wonderful and deeply sympathetic character - one of those slaves played 'right' if that makes sense. She probably never inew it, but in some ways, many ways perhaps - she is/was a better person than Malak.
I'm saddened and intreaged by this post. If this is the end of Claire, then I hope I can have just as much fun with your next character!

I am not amused. Neither is Elenia, who at first, thought this was just one big joke when she heard about it. I'm certainly going to miss Claire...and Elenia will never be the same since meeting Claire and now knowing that Claire is gone.

Re: Forever and a Day
Wasn't Claire one of the characters that went on a naked smiting trip through Malar Temple with Erik a few years ago? Anyway, it's sad to see her go. I do wonder how she spiked the wine; normally you spike a fruit punch with a wine or vodka, but for Sencliffe's wine I hope it was like something like this?

Re: Forever and a Day
After seven years you grow an immunity to the sudden roll and yet it always hurts from a good character. Not sure what Ry would have been if not with Vic and Claire but it's time to find out!
Always fun, always a great time, and can't wait until it all happens again.

Claire was the best thing to happen to Cordor during that time. Was the main person that gave drift hope during the tension. Such a cool and badass character. Thanks for the RP!
