Kyomi's Departure

Post by Amaxin »

Hello. Finally managed to create a forums account, after… A long time. It's been too long.
After about six months of continous, daily fun here, I must take a break. I’ve got some bad things going on in my life, and I recently found out that my puppy’s got some serious health issues, and I need to take care of it. Meaning - I won’t be able to be as active as I was. I need a short break, although I should get online once in a while, for an hour or two.

During my playtime, I’ve met, and interacted with so many amazing people. Even though I cannot remember all of them, and I am sincerely sorry if you’re left out, I’d like to thank some of you, for being memorable and unique.

Sorri Sin’vah - Well, you’re going first, as always. Beloved Sin’vah sister, fellow troublemaker, bearer of the family curse - you were always there. Thank you ever so much for getting me into this game and this server specifically, and thank you for being an amazing person.
Even though Kyomi and Sorri argued and disagreed many times, they still remained close - to the point where I was just in awe how she coped with Kyomi’s shenanigans.
Sin’vah sisters fighting off the balor invasion on Cordor? Check! Sin’vah sisters killing a bloodlusty rakshasa? Check! Thank you again.

Toniel Senesh - Second to meet, second to go. You’re actually the first person, apart from Sorri, that I interacted with - and what a great interaction it was. The warm welcome Kyomi’s received was propably the best welcome I’ve seen in my whole life. Toniel, considered the best friend and a sister, left without giving poor Kyomi a chance to apologise for what she’s done, and to say that she was actually right.
Oh, do I have to mention that Toniel gave Kyomi a huge reason to be around, and push her own plot forward?

Catherine LeBlanc - The first person to actually come up to Kyomi and talk to her out of interest, not because she needed something. The reason to join the guard, the reason to fight bad people in power. Her leave had a somewhat big impact on her future. Thanks for being around, Catherine. Justice in your wake.

Siyu Hikari - Met eachother by coincidence, stayed around for longer that they propably wished for. Kyomi’s mentor and friend, a really nice person OOC - keep it up. I enjoyed every single moment.

Drift Seaborn - I could write lines and lines of text here, yet I don’t want to bore you to death - once Drift told Kyomi that he always thought she was “too edgy” for him. Didn’t turn out this way, did it?
After everything they’ve been through - joy, happiness, stressful work, tears and pain - they’ve still remained close, which really inspired me to carry on with Kyomi’s life. Thanks a lot for creating such an astonishing character, and being like that even outside of the game. You made Kyomi's journey thousand times better.

Quistilla Song - Villain number one, I could say. Thank you for not making Kyomi’s life even worse, and for the amazing RP we’ve had. As a matter of fact, I must admit that you’ve failed - Kyomi has never became a sharren.

Shanna Tahir - Shanna! Just like for Drift, I could write so much, yet I’ve got so little time lately. Remember the time when she just arrived to the isle, and met Kyomi? Her baby steps in Cordor? I found that RP absolutely adorable, even though we started arguing pretty quickly, and Shanna left. She was always welcome, yet she never visited Kyomi. Shame on you, you missed on some pretty good cake!

Violet Riverwood - Yet another one. The person that made Kyomi take a ride on a wild emotional rollercoaster created by a homicidal maniac - ecstatic happiness, overwhelming sadness, worry, guilt, regret - it’s all there. But it worked out pretty good in the end, which I’m happy about. Thank you.

Teris Raynor - What can I say. One of the most unique, incredibly well-prepared characters. She felt so real and believeable to the point where I couldn’t say if the humanity haven’t secretly developed a sentient AI and I’m interacting with it. Insanely well done, Teris!
You’ve been also one of the best guards I had, and I appreciate your help. Thank you for the time spent around me, the plots we've had, and the somewhat troubling relationship between the two for the time being.

And finally, everyone else I’ve interacted with! You filled the world of Arelith with believeable, unique characters, and you made the story great. You guys are literally the best!

You will be the voice for the mute,
You will be the sound for the deaf,
You will help those who can not stand.
You will be the comfort for the beaten,
And you will be the Light,
In a very dark world.

Tomorrow is a hope, never a promise.
Goodbye.

I have spent around 4/5 years on this server, and not once have I actually cried at a character's departure. And to be fair I can't say I want to again. :p

Violet never expected anything from Kyomi, but got so much more than she could ever ask for. From start to end it was, as you said, a rollercoaster. But Violet is willing to do it all over again!

Hope to see you around soon bud, but if not then you know where to find me. :D

Kyomi was one of the most compelling characters I've had the pleasure of playing with. I've never played with a character so well written and I doubt I ever will.

Some people say the best relationship rp is like fire: passionate and intense, brief and blinding. But the dynamic between Teris and Kyo proved them wrong, at least to me.

You taught me that in a world as chaotic, twisted and surprising as that of Cordor... nothing's quite as beautiful as the slow burn. Two years for a kiss; a price gladly paid.

Kyomi was Teris' first love. Still is. And though Kyomi has left the island, Teris will never forget her, nor will she forget her promise. When it's cold, and she's nursing a hot cup of coffee... When she goes to the hot springs, at the base of the mountains... Whenever she takes a walk through the bramble. Every night, she'll think of Kyomi. And she'll smile, awaiting the day she'll see her lover again.

"Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.
Just like our many lives.
For the us who are still in it and still in the journey, send warm blessings.
---We will continue to walk down this path until eternity."

Thank you for the laughs, the tears, and the memories.
"Wait, you've never had the Talk? The birds and the bees?" -Korianna
"Uh, no. I'm a cleric, not a beekeeper." -Teris Raynor

There is no doubt in my mind that I would not still be playing this game if i had not met Kyomi. Going into the game i had reservations about whether or not anyone would be playing this thing at all or not. The first time i logged in sorted out my character appearance I wandered around cordor for an hour and didnt meet anyone and thought 'screw it' as I got bored.

I met Siyu and she was the first person i spoke to though she passed me on to you, where i pretty much stayed for the first year and a half of her existance.

I knew nothing of this game or the universe, which is why Shanna's back story is maybe a little strange, and hell she even worshiped gods that didnt exist here, but rather than bluntly call BS or anything else of that nature Kyomi really took care of Shanna fully, gave her some money to feed herself, if she didnt feed herself kyomi would buy her food, housed her to keep her off the streets, clothed her as she had only her mothers robes to her name. (she still wears those clothes too)

Shanna's fight to gain the recognition of the gods in this world and find her blessed link to Chauntea was always shadowed by Kyomi's flat pragmatism. As she had never experienced death up to the point where Tanril was eaten by sharks at black rock, she thought him gone forever and was absolutely distraught running around cordor in the near nude and praying at the altar in the farmlands desperately for his return. Kyomi was there almost fighting her to re-dress herself.

Many times trying to get to the shrine at the bramble watchpost but always having to run away from all the mobs there, so she would go and ask Kyomi and they would go together, kyomi sat by the fire while Shanna prayed.

Then Kyomi started to get into trouble with some bad people, but she wouldnt let Shanna in emotionally. She felt shut out and helpless, wanting above all else to help Kyomi through what she was going through, but it was to no avail. this is what caused them to start falling out, Kyomi had been there every step of the way but wouldnt let shanna help her even when so clearly in need of help.

Being unable to help, and not allowed to help yet constantly having kyomi appear clearly distressed and in desperate need forced Shanna to become a little more cold to Kyomi though against her will. Kyomi saying things like "ive got nobody!" really hurt Shanna whom had been trying to help. So much so Shanna actually slapped Kyomi to get some sense into her, though that was more grooming from Tanril at this point him having convinced that she needed to be bashed to get through to her.

when shanna got pick pocketted, mugged and then threatened with assassination those were the times she really wanted just to be at her sisters side and make all the bad feelings go away, but by this point she felt their relationship was really not as it was, or as it should be, and some final words from Drift sealed that :D

so she left, but does come back if Kyomi has announced birthday parties!

Overall far more positive than negative (which is still part of the rp rollercoaster!) it has been so great, i could write looooads more but i'll keep the rest for another time, hope everything goes well IRL :)

Kyomi was amazing. Complex, loveable and a real pain to be around sometimes! But we all loved her for it. She always felt real to me, a lost soul in a storm.

She made for an interesting rival too. Gonna miss that.

Thank you for the memories.

Ryana: "Not a paladin." I'll take that as a compliment.
