Goodbye, from Nine and Ten

Post by PurpleFridays »

Well folks, thats it... after a long discussion between me and Rockstar we desided that Naredia and Lucia would stay in death, it was an amazing thing hanging around with you all, we really appreciate it a lot and i just want to mention a few great people Naredia met along the way.

Lyssa~ Lyssa was one of the first mages that Naredia met on Arelith and even though it was short lived, it was extremely fun hanging around with you, P.S Get some tattoos girl!

Syrian/Shadow: You were fun to hang around with, especially when Naredia first came to the surface after being captured, it was well thought out and im glad to have met you.

Malice: Naredia's true love. You keep your "Training" going on, I hope it goes well, it might be rkmantic or maybe not that the last words she said before dying, were "Malice, I love you."

Ozenda: Was fun to RP doing your tattoo! I hope it serves you well and you enjoy RP'ing with it.

Talyrrae and Xun'viir: You guys made an awesome raid when you captured Naredia and watching that mummy beat her to death was highly amusing, Talyrrae... as much as I wish we could have RP'd more, when you blew Naredia's brains out... it just felt so right. Stay you. Have fun.

Lucia Bellrose/Nine: Could almost say Naredia''s alternate love, especially if she was single... (Shh) the eqy we RP'd Lucia and Naredia keeping themselves and resisting being broken was unqiue and fun to fillow through, I hope you have so much fun on your next toon. I'll always be here to add bit of craziness to anythig, thank you. ;)

And last of all. To The DM team, and the community that make Arelith possible, sometimes i question if Arelith is actually real or if it is my idea of a ngreat server in my head, it has its ups and downs but everyrhing does, and I am so grateful Arelith exists.

Thanks again!

The RP From the Xun'viir crowd was absolutely top notch. Lucia's story took a direction I never expected, and I am very satisfied with how she died in the end. Making a final stand and act of defiance, as she stood over Naredia's dead body, no longer willing to submit herself to Talyrrae as the last person she loved was taken.

Lucia was a great ride from start to finish. From when she was just a young, commander in training, to when she started her own company and managed to unite a ragtag bunch of new and old characters together, to running for councillor, and then eventually going to Guldorand and then being kidnapped and enslaved.

I have far, far too many kudos to add on to Purple Fridays'. There are so many characters that have had a major influence on Lucia's development from start to finish. I'll name that ones that most recently had a major influence.

Rannos Susidian: Guldorand was under tough times when I came back from inactivity, and once Lucia learned he was there she moved immediately. Although the interactions were few, Rannos was a great role model for Lucia (for better or worse) and although I do not regret permaing Lucia I am still a little sad on all the potential I could have missed. Same goes for the Guldorand crew, of which

Mapharbell: Lucia was fully ready to submit completely to Talyrrae's will, until this guy rolled along. Normally Lucia wouldn't have trusted a pale master, but that changed with her time in the UD. Maph wanted to help free her, and ultimately triggered a more rebellious side of Lucia. And if Lucia did return to the surface, she would've been much more sympathetic to necromancers and pale masters.

Talyrrae Xun'viir: Holy crap. Where to begin. Great character, well written dialogue, and she put Lucia in a lot of situations where even I had to stop and think how she would react. Talyrrae's player kept me on my toes the entire time, and made me put a lot of thought into how I rped Lucia. Talyrrae almost ALMOST managed to make Lucia turn LN. Talyrrae was amazing. Kudos over 9000.

Vacasayz: A nice little touch of madness. Lucia had a tough time knowing what to say to her, simply because of how mad she seemed to be. But she was a very interesting character and definitely added to the insanity of the situation and at times was genuinely creepy enough to chill me irl a little.

Wheua Xun'viir: A similar thing for her. Wheua, Lucia's captor, is the only drow that truly creeped the f out of me. The drow are sadistic and evil mostly yes, but Wheua is the one who realllllllly gave me creepy vibes sending chills down my spine for every interaction. Just her general behavior, the way she played with Lucia like a doll, it was great. And extra kudos for Wheua for being the one to start the whole thing by capturing Lucia in the first place, which I genuinely enjoyed every minute of.

The Xun'viir house at large: All of you kept me and Lucia on her toes. She actually started to develop a genuine sympathy for the drow and the other UD races. Even though in the end she angrily protested and swore off house Xun'viir, she started to see the drow as complex people and change her perceptions. Really difficult to do considering she was originally a paladin. All of you guys were top notch and I had so much fun, even while Lucia was getting pushed around and tortured.

Duncan and Korianna: It's funny, that Lucia got caught and kidnapped ON HER WAY TO FIND THEM. I'm glad to see that these two continue the Tempurrans and the Praetorians, and soon enough I will be making another Tempurran (Probably not a Red Knight follower) for more opportunities to rp with them. Duncan and Korianna were great, and I am slightly disappointed that the rescue operation will no longer be a thing.

Naredia: A well written character, great interactions, very friendly player. Lucia would have descended to LN if Naredia wasn't captured and dragged into the picture. Naredia kept Lucia together, and I like to think that in the end, Lucia trying to save her and then deswearing her service to Talyrrae because of her ultimately redeemed her as a paladin with her final breath.

These kudos are just the ones for the characters Lucia interacted with during her time in the UD. There are many, many more so many that I can't begin to list all of them. There are many characters that, whether they developed Lucia's story or she developed theirs, that have played a major part and I'll always hold dear.

It also seems, that Lucia made a few waves of her own on Arelith. When she was first enslaved I had many people oocly expressing much shock and surprise to me, and then there's all the news I heard both IC and OOC of people who wanted to rescue her. And down in the UD, I received many kudos from those that I played with, and there were a lot of top notch players there that challenged me to be an even better RPer and I learned a lot from them.

Oh the year was 1778...

Rest in peace Lucia and Naredia, you magnificent, doomed souls.

Lucia was one of those characters I always wish I'd got to know a little better - from Sharo sharing a hallway with her in the Nomad, to Vacazays trying to help her in her own, slightly, unhinged way. Even as a (largely) uninvolved observer it was a ball watching how her RP developed. She always felt very fluid, very real - things changed around Lucia, and she changed in turn. That's the sort of thing that makes characters feel like people, and I salute your decision to stick with the roll (even if a large part of me wants to bundle Lucia off so I can keep RPing with her). That she met an end standing up the Drow - well, what divine strategist could ever ask for more?

Here's looking forward to seeing you on the next go around!
May you live in interesting times.
