Talking when Shapeshifted

After the update it would seem that you cannot talk while shapeshifted.

I mean, in some cases it totally makes sense. But you cannot even emote. No idea if that is somehow tied to the shifter class, or tied to all shapechanging abilities.

On the other hand, it's still possible to speak a different language since i saw someone in batform speak elven. So the problem is just with common i suppose?

It seems to make sense (not speaking common), but it wasn't intentional, just like the player joined thing. I'll find out if the admins want it or not.

I think that Wildshape and Werewolf shape shouldn't be able to speak common, but only Animal. Just my personal opinion on the matter. The rest tend to be magical spells so speaking Common isn't too far fetched.

I'm okay with not being able to talk in SOME shapes, but only if you can emote instead.

Actually I disagree, while I agree every druid and their brother should not speak common when in animal form, some of us have IC reasons that were approved of before making the char.

That's just my take on it. There have been a lot of discussions about this before, and this is simply what I feel about it. The consensus has always been mixed; a lot of people think that talking animals are "eeeeeeeeeh..." and others find it perfectly reasonable within the setting.

I am of the opinion that being shapeshifted into an animal should only allow speak in animal...with possible exceptions for ravens and parrots.

Now magically shapeshifting with a spell might be different, since magic should be able to fashion whatever tongue a person might desire

I know I was a pixie and couldn't speak common or even emote. I found that odd, but just started speaking elven.

I think that animals should be able to speak common! My character kind of revolves around this concept. There's already a massive forum post arguing about this.
