The Dance

Post by Iceborn »

After a long while of denial and "no, guys, seriously, I'm cool, I'll keep playing Atri", I think I reached the point where I don't have any more fun with my own character, and my only motive to keep playing him seems to be other awesome characters and their own plots.

But since I'm a selfish prick, it may be time to introduce Atri to the considerably massive shelf of level 30 characters that are likely going to gather dust for a long time before I ever feel like playing them again. I may log back with the lizard, but don't hold your hopes up, and this is something that really annoys me as well, since I had a considerable number of little things that I wanted to do with plenty of characters!
Ah, but enough of that.

For all of you that helped me to play my first lawful character for more than 1 week, for the derranged and the delluded, the mighty and the... even more delluded, here's my kudos to you, individual as far as my memory goes:

The Dancer in Red:
When we first met, I thought "yeah, I don't think I'll get to play with this one much". I'm very glad to have been proven wrong, and despite the constant sway of political back and forths, Sabine was a constant that Atri could somewhat rely on, and more importantly, held respect for. There was some affinity and empathy he held for her, and her alone.

Daddy (Sharps):
If you played Skyrim, you probably heard of Heimskr. The crier of Talons in Whiterun that goes "FOR I LOOOOOOOOOVE YOU"? That guy? Well, that was my first impression of Arakh, and Arakh is a solid character - and even if Atri never got to really see more than shimmers of the depth of who he really was, I did.

Mrs "wtf are you crazy what are you doing here again?":
Out of the many characters that helped me to play Atri's plot, probably one of the most influential was Erin, which went full on hardcore with my plans and my own RP. The ring that she made served as a plot device for many little interactions, and would have served for two more specific purposes that could have led to more curious results.

(Not) Generic Mage 32:
There's no real explanation for how your usual order-obsessed monk could get to befriend a deeply chaotic entropy-praising wild mage, but that's what happened, and he's never regretted it (seriously), except for that exclusive time we had to present to the world the Quivering Hoof maneuver (sorry!). One way or another, Malavos had been without fault the closest that Atri had to a real friend beyond his kin.

Totes Not Timatan Faction, Rly:
The Sventari gets a general kudos, but a special shout out goes to Flame, for combulsing onto the keyboard and making another faction because no one else was going to, and Talon, for being a bro, both IC and OOC.

Now, to name a few of the characters that I was specially fond of:
Xir, Schezalle, Hadewych, Rah'Velve, Arra'vyll, Nym, Dreams-of-Ashes, Sarina, Erelyne, Nalfien, Niku (and Azk, I'll still be keeping close tab on you!), Draco'zu (and Co), Quillian. And Arianne, totally Arianne.

I don't know how that happened either, but it is true, Atri is/was Mal's bff even as it made no sense, or perhaps because of that. His shenanigans will be missed, as well all those philosophy talks and adventures we had.

here, have a serene lizard in a bathtub when that wild mage appears.

I really liked Atrilabax! He was always able to offer a tidbit or a small hint as to what I could do on Sfayi that day, haha. I always loved those situational, descriptive emotes.

I'll look forward to your next character! Cheers!
