Zod's Kudos

Post by DestroyerOTN »

A Recountance Of Recent Events wrote:...he seemed to bid a farewell to it as watching. One to the city. A look away and back at what the seemingly last-legged form was making a destination-less wander from... a pilgrimage, without known nirvana.
... and with that, a rather -significant- chapter, I believe, came to it's seal for my time in the deep! A neat close (as far as you all need to know) that should make a seal to Zod's work down here. Love all of you guys, figure now is the good time to put out something special for those whom need mention the most before I forget!

Only Zod influences this time, don't be upset if I miss you please! I'll add more if I recall them ;)

Martin:
Oh boy, if there's a darker that hasn't passed you cookies... but really, you deserve all of them. I'm hoping interaction continues, even if it's with the more-crazy and less well-tipping character. Keep up the good job of being one of, as I've seen, the best slaves in the UD and a fine buddy for the little guy :P

Yasdia Mae'urden:
The drow that people snarled, growled, shivered, and groaned at before Qirovva made it cool. Seriously, I had a fun time weaving my way, known or not, into your delicate web of ever-encompassing plots. The best part? You weren't a "Mary Sue" evil, that did everything; but you were the archetypical one that got into -everything-...

Kiya Ashclaw & her not-to-be-named secondaries:
I don't even know -what- to compliment on. This little guy spawned in pit town some 7-8 months back and the epic level kobold just wandered up and treated him like anybody else, listened to him, and heck... you came to be buddies with the guy and hear all that the little bugger had to offer. You made me feel a welcome to the UD, and it's likely you helped me like it. I salute you, on more levels than one.

Grogak & Ireguta:
Ah, the joys of duergar. The wonder it is to interract with them and their usual habits. Mage duergar, more interesting still... actually, there seems to be a certain keening and cunning of the duergar magi that I've yet, still, to get. Few plot deeper, think more mindfully, hold more secrets, and keep what is generally a lovable environs set around the feel of the world in the caves than the two of you; all while keeping that subtle duergar overtone in grunted, constant, disgruntlement at nothing specific. Ireguta, of the two, the more sociable; but Grogak, if you've not weaved your way into the deeper aspects of what he does, has plenty to offer himself. My hat tips your way

Salindra Montraven:
A joyous nemesis, a deadly assassin, a cunning and witty mental debator, a philosophical enigma, and a curious and mysterious origin fill each thing she has to offer. A great personality, and someone to really make one watch their back. Nowhere is one entirely certain they lay free from her eye, nowhere to hide, and perhaps... when she pins you down at the foot with an arrow, she'll leave you to linger in the feeling a bit longer to add all the more tension to what is inevitable. To talk upfront isn't bad, either, and the player has a keen eye for how to keep that air of constant suspicion afloat. I've nothing but good words to say, and I -really- wish we could've held that long old rivalry, that brewed such pleasantly meaningful conflict, longer.

Catalin Snow:
You know the fine details. I know the fine details. Anyone who matters does, too. We're leaving it there... but your character's evolved half-arsed confidence from timid and humble origins touches deep, and the character does the same in the simplicity of it all, regardless. Keep your work going... and yes, do keep cranking out maps. Had you -only- been down here longer for the little guy to buy more.

... and tip you for them. How much of that tipping actually profits, debatable, because Grogak's paychecks sure didn't.

Versvesh Irejir:
Someone who knows their lore. They're careful in build, in ways I won't leak, but they're carefuller in concept, carefuller in wording, carefuller in composition. I don't know how, but this guy time and time again makes me hold respect for a creation I would ordinarily quite resent.... abhor... find a shy away from in. He does what he is well, and, in fact, possibly better than the entire server's pool of kobolds does he conduct his racial playout. An odd concept that's somehow more kobold-y than anyone else out there. If I didn't offer you cookies, I'd be a dumb old box of rocks.

Jharrik Ironguard:
Brutish, single-minded, gruff, abrupt, uncharismatically offputting, and generally colorful persona, wrapped up in the package of a duergar thick in muscle, though not of head; with a gonne, a cigar, and a work-centric powerhouse of an instinctual-tuned mind. Thane of all things Ironguard. How much more is there to say? Too much to really write, and all of it rounded from that anyway, with nothing not to like for a player wanting something refreshingly well fleshed out. You're always consistent to your personality, yet find always a way to embrace the shifts and changes of the playerbase, community, and features (even if it's hard!). I've yet to see you turn a newer player off, and you always welcome them to a fresh and strongly-wrought plot. The fall of one doesn't stop this duergar, whom quickly finds another. Want someone to get things off the ground with? Jharrik is the one to go to. He deserves a medal... or a 30 RPR, at least. That's cool, too.

Crinukh:
I'd have mentioned you earlier... but that wouldn't have been dramatically appropriate. The melodramatic kobold minstrel, with tales and tricks long tucked away up his sleeve, and an advising and guiding hand to carry the guiding lantern along with Zod when Kiya made her long trip away. If I didn't credit you, it'd be a serious plot hole (okay, I'll stop now).

Zackary Mennen:
In memoriam of the good warden. Somehow, he played himself well, carefully, right, and proper without overdoing, trying too hard, going far in overhead, or anything of the like at all. He simply had his character and played it like it was a walk through his day. There's no specific extraordinary event between these two that I care to toss here.... but his ability to receive my character, and in the next breath another with just the right keening of caution vs. autobash, I can't ignore.

Vippin:
We only spoke once. Once. This was the extent of our interraction...
... and in that time alone, I don't think I could've been made to have my skin crawl by a villain's wording more. Every letter that rolled off the old, haggard serpent's tounge spoke a deep, acidic malice that stung right to the OOC skin. That, yet adhering in all other aspects to Wheaton's Law, and being an excellently-recieving OOC buddy, never ceases to amaze. Please come back around!

Various Players of Withheld Name:
If you were involved in it, and you know very dang well who you are, you know. Just silently nod, and we can all go home knowing every last one of you rocked it out. I was joyed to have been a weaving part of this plot... even if it fell off. Now, get back there and try to make it important again! Please?

 Zod is leaving us?!? Well ... we all need breaks and sometimes need finality with characters. So I can't complain too much, can I?

Zod was one of the first characters that helped Martin out, and a constant "go to" guy for my pathetic slave trying to survive the reality that is the underdark. I'll miss him.

Apologies that you caught me at a time when my enthusiasm for kobold-dom waned a bit. Zod, however, was definitely a special creation; complex...at times even pained.

I must say, I don't always drink, but when I do...its to Zod.

*raises a glass*

Cheers!
