Improve Archer AI or equip them with melee weapons

I'm not sure what the problem is, but monster archers are constantly using their bows in melee and drawing AoOs from every which way.

I can wade into the middle of an archer group and they can pretty much all drop dead from AoO hits before whatever I'm targeting dies.
