Stroking Your Igogh
Igogh and Eirik have finally decided to pass on the leadership of Darrowdeep, and move on with their new life together on the mainland. It's been almost a year, and an amazing journey. Every character I play here is more fun than the last, and it's because of what all of you bring to their stories.
David Hawkhelm: This is where it all started for Igogh. Their time together was brief, but David set her on the path that would ultimately lead her to meet some of the most important people in her life. His inclusiveness and energy made it much easier for a lowbie outcast to get involved.
Nehala Rein: The big sister that Igogh always wanted. Their time was short as well, but it really helped to have an advocate and someone to run to for advice whenever things got difficult. She was colorful and deep, and her departure RP served as another very important lesson in Igogh's early life.
Q & The C3 Law Offices: Since I obviously can't name names or talk about events, I just want to say to you all that it was loads of fun while it lasted, and each of you brought an interesting personality to the table. Seeing friends from her old life and having that secret bond was always a treat.
Ohan Hhar: A truly unique character in personality and intent. What he achieved with The Horde was nothing short of incredible. His dedication was unparalleled, and his impact on the island permanent. His impact on Igogh was lifechanging as well. Not only was he a joy to meet and talk with for their Orcish lessons, but he welcomed a lost lonely girl into a larger community that she would come see as family.
The Horde: Each and every member of The Horde brought another little bit of flavor to the group, with all of the often clashing perspectives on Orcishness creating a bright and diverse subculture of violence, brutality, and community. Their raids were always fun, everyone flying by the seat of their pants, and vastly overestimating their ability to survive in dangerous dungeons. Unlike most other groups that fall apart in that chaos, The Horde thrived in it, creating a unique and exciting experience every time. It's end was inevitable, but every moment until then was a blast.
Mudagog: The father that Igogh never had, but desperately needed. Mudagog oozed personality. He brought an Orcish flair to everything he did, not matter how big or small, even if it put him at a disadvantage. His counsel and his protective nature, especially in regards to her personal relationships, helped her feel confident enough to stop hiding and find happiness.
Eirik Skuring: Eirik changed the course of Igogh's story in every way. He introduced her to so many possibilities that I might never have even thought of. Their relationship allowed me explore the details and ramifications of her past in a way that was challenging, intriguing, and often cathartic. His faith and support allowed her to become involved in a myriad of operations and organizations that would otherwise have excluded her purely on the basis of her race. Not only that, but he grew and developed in an organic way, from a wild barbarian, to a guard, a knight, a lord, and a loving, devoted husband. His drive and determination changed the face of the island and, let's face it, made him as much a leader of the Dominion as any Thane.
The Housecarls: The truth is that I made Igogh red so that she would stick out like a sore thumb and attract a lot of hate. The Housecarls were the first large group to see her revealed, and the combination of fear, distrust, and eventual recognition was all that I could have hoped for. RL stuff cut off her career with them too early, but the gatherings, meetings, outings, and general guard duties were always exciting.
Meriam Fuzzypaw: If Mudagog was Igogh's father, then Merry was her mother. Everything about Merry is motherly, from her advice to her protection, always standing for those closest to her. Her sense of adventure brings excitement to every shared journey. While not a constant companion, she was a welcome participant in some of Igogh's most important moments.
Ezekiel Klennald: One of the few people Igogh felt she could be completely honest with. Ezekiel's personal story was subtle, well crafted, and never obstrusive. It came out naturally, developing his depth without the need for grandstanding, and ultimately solidifying his position in Guldorand as a wise justicar.
Astra Starlock: You are a saint for dealing with those language lessons. I can't even. I just can't. Astra was always fun to talk to, and seek an alternative to the usual militaristic perspectives Igogh was surrounded by, or simply vent about how bad everything is and why it's everyone else's fault. Ironically, given her hectic life, RPing with Astra was never stressful. A lot of the time, Igogh would go to her just to chill, relax, and recover from the overwhelming nature of her own work. If nothing else, she deserves an award for stamina.
Juris Irilcofmaaw: There was something special and unique about Juris. I wish we'd had more time together, because he was a constant source of ingenious comic relief. Outwardly, he did a good job of appearing as a simple (klutzy) soldier, but beneath that, his personal desires and ambitions were a treat for those who spent the most time with him.
The Darrowpeeps: Saelynn, Vicko, Harvey, Finn, Gallien, Nathaniel, and everyone else who darkened our doorstep over the months, you all brought a broad range of enjoyable personalities and stories to Darrowdeep. One of the points Igogh always stressed during interviews was that Darrowdeep is a collective of individuals with common ideals, who work together to achieve their goals, and I stand by it. You are the ones who made Darrowdeep a success. Your personal quests and desires fueled the fire that made Darrowdeep shine so brightly. To all those who were in the process of applying, I apologize for the timing of Igogh's departure, but I had told as much of her story as I wanted to tell, and I felt it would be unfair to continue while giving the faction anything less than my full attention. Darrowdeep's story will continue for as long as you continue to write it.
Falgrim Vintergard: Stern, militaristic, firm, but fair. Their first interaction was awful for Igogh, but great for me. Falgrim gave her a chance to do something very important to the character: prove that she was more than her blood. It was his dedication to that which allowed me to explore her reaction to distrust. Rather than immediately throwing her out or deciding to let her in on a whim, he stuck with it, making the process gradual and thus rewarding. That aside, he was a fun leader to have, always organizing expeditions to get a group together.
Ghestaldt Blimth: Igogh will never forget those late nights spent alone with the Thane in his chambers. *brow softens*
The Brogendenbros: Brogendenstein, as it is now, is a community the likes of which I've never seen before on Arelith, and it's thanks to all those of the Kuldarn and the temple who bring their energy to the group. There are simply too many of you to name, but each and every one of you brought another little bit of depth and flavor to the culture. The events were fantastic, from feasts to funerals, and every march in between. From the outside it might appear to be a just a cave full of Dwarven warrior smiths, but there's an unbelievable diversity in The Halls, now. Long live The Dominion.
Vance, Jhaamdath, Dante, and all the other nefarious plotters: Our direct interactions were few and far between, but all of the evil folk trying to take over the island, or at least get a piece of it, give all of us do gooders something to fight against. Emotions run high, especially in PvP, but your contribution, in the end, makes Arelith what it is, and for that you deserve thanks.

Re: Stroking Your Igogh
It was an absolute pleasure in all my interactions with Igogh. The character played such a vital part during the closing years of Ghestaldt's story, and for that I can't thank you enough.
Lovin' you is easy 'cause you're dutiful
Re: Stroking Your Igogh
I plan on writing my own kudos thread, but I'll already anticipate that Igogh was a blessed person for having endured Eirik for so many years lol. I really enjoyed the story our characters built and told together, and how everything culminated in the end. It was a blast.
Re: Stroking Your Igogh
I had so many fun moments with Igogh especially the fact she raised her brow at everything I did on veigal. Yet still allowed him to blossom into the flower he is now. Igoghs and Eiriks acceptance of Veigals insanity is what made him so much more fun to play. I thank you for all the adventures and fun we had. I wish you all the best.
Also happy Gotriik got to yell at her.

I cannot even with Igogh Gone
She is and was a treasure and troubled soul.
Meriam never knew much about Igogh's past, and never really needed to.
Sometimes its just enough to know the person as they are now <3
I'll miss Igogh just as much as Meriam will

Winifred Rhoswen: "He said good things. Even said ye weren't a Paladin when I asked!"
Ryana: "Not a paladin." I'll take that as a compliment.

Astra will definitely miss Igogh, one of the few female friends she had on the island, Astra still laughs to this day when she finds out people didn't realize Igogh's Red skin was due to her being a tiefling.
(Back in the early days when she had her hood up and in her discretion mentioned her filed down horns)

Really amazing character. There are tons of people who could kill me off from a mechanical standpoint and Igogh was the person my character most wanted to stay in the good graces of. Both slightly afraid and very respectful.. complete RP fear of.
She was also kind and nice and a little funny at times. All around a well rounded character with a distinct personality and a lot of depth. Loved every minute with her.
Thanks for the great times.. Huge impact on my character.

"I have this thought, but people won't like it. Should I- Oh Igogh already smeared it in their faces. Ok everyone is fighting."
Thanks for igniting so much RP with your greatly portrayed character. Hope you have fun with the next doing just the same!

Re: Stroking Your Igogh
I always enjoyed Igogh shunning Henrik because of her witnessing "stuff" when he was still a new character.
I loved that, despite Henrik being friends with her father Mudagog, and that no matter how charming Henrik tried to be - she would never trust him and be barely civil to him.

Hey there player of Igogh. Mudagog's player here. Reading your kudos warmed my heart. You're an incredible player.
