Boat captains able to choose Home Dock

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Boat captains able to choose Home Dock

Post by Tashalar »

I find it a bit jarring sometimes, that you have to go to the Crow's Nest to find the Liberator, when logically it would be docking at Sencliff (being a more secure location for a pirate ship to hide). It gave me the idea for this suggestion!

Make it an option with the Navigator (for those who hold keys, if not just the Owner themselves) to pick a default docking position, where after resets the ship returns to -that- position instead of say, the Crow's Nest. Restrict it to maybe a once-per-reset change (because setting up a proper mooring point takes time, though it might be fun to not have this restriction for adventuring parties, I don't know), but persists over resets if changed?

This would help those adventurers that head out to an isle and mid-adventure a reset happens, causing them to all have to lense/attune out when they get back to the ship, if the Captain/lead adventurer-with-a-key could tell the Navigator to stay near the shore.
