Give every class Ride, make Animal Empathy = Ride

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
    Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

As topic.

Make it so every class and prestige class has ride. Ride is a very 'rare' skill and so has little value beyond RP. Magi and the like who want it really can't take advantage of it.

Make it so Animal Empathy ranks = Ride Ranks for the skill. Update the combat feats in the feat 2da to include Animal Empathy as a skill that activates combat riding and horse archery feats. Druids and rangers shouldn't have any difficulty if they've trained in convincing animals to let them ride.

So long as skills points are generally banked to dunp on the same few 'powerful' skills, any increase will only serve to fuel powercreep, just as making more 'class skills' will do the same. We not need yet more powerful builds.
