
And it as well will untie the touch-attack from the spells when needed, because spell resistance checks and saving throws are squashed together and not made separately right now, despite what wiki states, thus you're unable to make the spell force a saving throw unless the touch attack lands, which I'm certain is not how it was intended.
why can it be done: doesn't affect the balance in any way.
why might it be considered: might fix the flaw in class design.
Here's a screenshot of a combat log with proof. When I cast Tasha's hideous laughter and the touch attack didn't land - no saving throw roll. each time it hit there was a saving throw. Each time it hit but the spell itself got resisted - the eldritch blast was also resisted.
