Tumble and Ride interactions

At present, ride skill preserves tumble AC when you are riding a horse. It does not, preserve the ability to pass the DC15 check against attacks of opportunity, as mounting debuffs the tumble skill rank wise. Meaning I can hop on a horse, to ostensibly become more mobile, but actually end up less able to move freely in combat.

Can it be made so ride can be used instead of tumble for passing AoO checks? Even if this is only the case if you have the requisite ranks in tumble also.
