Bag's and weight issues

Description
I have several bags and have seen this over a few days and is an issue that needs to be addressed. I take out all of the gem dust that I have in my bag, I put in a box and examine all of the items, and record the weight. 8.1lb. My character sheet says I have 142 lb. I add the gems back to my inventory. Weight goes up to 150, expected. I add all my gems back into my back expecting the weight to stay the same but it does not. My weight goes up instead to 156 with the gems in the pouch weighing 16lb, when I only put in 8lb of gems into it. This is common with all the gem bags, hunting bags, and scroll cases. Unknown if the mining bag is the same way as I do not own one. This is causing my charter to be heaver then actually is, causing me not to be able to carry as much loot as should. It also seems that if a bag has weight reduction, it does not actually reduce the weight of the items, but hard to confirm.

Steps to reproduce
Take items out of any bag, check the weight of the item, put back in the bag and weight is increased over what the weight was added.

Expected result
weights of items added into bags weigh less than or equal to the amount put into the bag, if bags have a weight reduction on them

Actual result
weights in the bag weigh more than the weight of an item that goes into the bag making the weight of the bag more than the weight items in inventory not in a bag.

Notes
This is believed to happen with all items in all bags and cases. This make the need for bags bad as items should weigh the same out of the bag as in the bag, as the intention of the bags for my understanding is to help reduce weight and help with inventory management.

This is common bug, usually you can just ask a DM to swap the bag out for a new one.

[Definately Not A Mimic]

A sometimes fix is to take 1 of something out of the bag and put it back in. Occasionally this will set it back to the weight it should be.

Greater Magical Mining bags don't have anywhere near their posted weight limit. They literally hold half of what plain Magical Mining bags hold.
