During courier missions it is not possible to interact with planar portals destinations. Those cannot be used for teleporting anyway, and when you're wandering around with a parcel and encounter something new, you can't memorize it.
Would be nice to alter the restriction a bit and allow memorizing of new portals, but not using them.
