So I was perusing the information on warlocks, considering trying one out now that they don't use the staff, and I had an idea.
Summary (Yes I came back up to type this because I realized I rambled)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Allow Warlocks to cross class to other casters and through <some process> apply eldritch blast to other spells.
Full thought process
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So the way Warlock works now, they get very specific spells, and those spells fall into one of three categories:
A.) No Eldritch Blast Damage (for buffs like haste or resistance),
B.) Partial Eldritch Blast Damage (For spells considered too potent to receive full damage) and
C.) Full Eldritch Blast Damage.
As I looked over all of the available spells, I realized there was only a handful that applied full damage, making Warlock very... Cookie cutter? Everyone's throwing the same 3 spells, basically. And that got me thinking. What if we let Warlocks cross-class, and carry over the eldritch blast damage? Might sound way to OP at first as you picture people tossing Eldritch Blast Harms or some such around, but hear me out.
Every level you take of <other class> is one less level of warlock. Assuming you wanted to apply your eldritch blast to 9th level spells, you've only got about 12 levels of Warlock, and that's assuming you don't take any other classes at all. Basically, in order to balance it, the rest of the spells just need to be sorted into those three categories from above. If you look at Harm and deem that as too potent if you add Eldritch Blast damage at all (considering that would instant kill ~a lot~ of things), you put it in category A, no EB damage. If you look at fireball and scream "Oh hell yeah the target of my massive explosion would take extra damage!", then that goes in option C.
The main issue I see is the cast/day limit. To be honest, I don't know what to do about that, as allowing the infini-cast to carry over could cause some potent, unforeseen issues, but not allowing the infini-cast to carry over would cause a massive "bleh" to land all over this. Who wants to cast 4 cool spells, then have to rest, when the alternative is casting infinity normal spells, you know? The main thing that comes to mind is, on each level of <new caster>, you'd be given the option of replacing your warlock spell with a spell from the new list, with perhaps a new classification of spell:
D.) Keep it the hell away from Warlock.
If you don't want someone to have Harm infinite times per day, cool. Don't let them. Personally I think it'd be kind of neat to see, but I understand that balance-wise it doesn't do a lot of good. Just think of the eldritch warrior tossing around his abyssal flame, or his infernal lighting, or fairy... I don't know, glitter?
Bottom line, variety is good. As is, if you've met a warlock of a specific path, you basically know the capabilities of every warlock on that path. Every fey pact is going to haste. Every infernal/abyssal is going to toss out a summon and bull's strength it. you know the drill.
All that said, I hope this suggestion finds you well. Have a nice day!

Re: Warlock Cross Class
We plan to eventually make warlock its own base class and will be expanding options for spells along with that. Denied.
