Higher Climb skill making checks harder instead of easier

The rope down to the Deep Wells in Robber's Den:

25 climb skill (no investment, only climb gear and stat mod) = simple climb

30 climb skill (equipping the last +5 piece) = near impossible climb


Edit: Equipping climb gear piece by piece made the climb check progressively easier, except for that last bit which pushed it all the way down to near impossible again.
