Greater Spell Focus - Divination

Post by Security_Blanket »

First of all, this is not to ascertain FOIG information, keep all that stuff to yourselves. There's been a lengthy discussion on the matter in this thread. There is one thing I've said that I've yet to receive an answer on and this seems like the most reasonable and basic approach to this issue right now.

So here is how I see it, regardless of whether the knowledge is common. You guys created a system that allows Diviners a bit of fluff in their RP and a slight advantage against others if you know what you're doing. That's fine, my issue is this, you don't need to be a Diviner. You just need gear to access a Diviner's ability. It makes absolutely zero sense that you should be able to get half of all of the Diviner's special abilities available just by putting on a piece of jewelry.

Being able to see Aura's/use the Deck of Stars should require the investment of Greater Spell Focus, not Spell Focus. Where is the incentive for Diviners to really be Diviners if anyone can do it? I think you need to look at all the schools available. Divination gets by far the least amount of perks and the justification is "Oh, well they can Scry." Then someone argues that "Diviner's get more than just Scry", but then so does everyone else if they put on an amulet.

Opening additional threads is not a good behavior to try and pry out information we've told you is to be discovered in game.
