As the Bishop approached the docks there was a commotion. A great discussion on what to do. One of the saviors has been attacked in Sencliff, disrespected in our own territory and people were asking for guidance on what to do.
The Wizard asked if he knew about the attacker's kin.
Bishop: "I think he might have an egg or two somewhere...after all I think dragons lay eggs. Dont know much of their biology."
Wizard: "I heard he has a human offspring...you know her name for us to scry?"
Bishop: "I really really doubt a big dragon can have a human child. Either the woman would suffer intense damage on the process of mating...or pehaps that particular dragon has a....unproportionally small organ compared to his size...poor lad."
The crowd bursted into laughters and comments. That was on purpose, to lighten the discussion and allow fear to change into reason. The bishop knew how to deal with pirates.
Bishop: "But trully, my brother cursed his adoptive daughter sometimes so I do know her name...but why do you want to know about it?
Count:"The dragon came here to sencliff and has threatened us...treated me disrespectfully. We want to kidnap the girl"
Bishop: "Unless we know the exact location of the girl this plan is hard to execute...let me propose something else..That dragon is well known in that tavern he has close to the Trader`s route. We go to the traders route and we kill every single person we find. But we leave one to tell the tale of those kills. And the tale is: People is dieing because Nathaniel went to Sencliff. People is dieing because he angered the Saviors. They are dieing because of what he did." We kill..and we send the blame to him. We can have some fun and leave a message to the folks that the Saviors need to be respected."
Wizard:"And what of the girl?"
Bishop:"We start killing in his playground either she or the dragon himself may come. If we have the chance we kidnap the girl or kill the dragon himself"
The pirates agreed with the plan. The Bishop was happy as he saw not only Saviors but the entire sencliff agreeing on his plan, his leadership.
Soon 6 strong pirates arrived in the road. A human female with a bow was there going in direction to the arcane tower. The pirates quickly surrounded her, the thirst of blood visible in their eyes. Bishop knew would be hard to control them to leave witnesses to tell the story later on the chaos of the battlefield so he acted first.
"My dear....i am terribly sorry you are here right now. You see...the owner of the tavern of the arcane tower attacked the saviors in Sencliff...he did that in disrespect to us and in disregard to the people of Bendir. Now the people of Bendir needs to pay the cost for Nathaniel`s actions....we are killing all in our path...and you are the first one. Blame Nathaniel...because he is the cause of it."
The Bishop took out his blade and slashed the girl`s gut open. Then he went for the final blow but purposedly missed allowing the girl to use her last strength to force her way to the arcane tower. The pirates wanted to hunt, and end what had started but the bishop said
BIShop: Stop!!! Let her go...she has a message to deliver. We keep our way outside town...on the road. We kill all in our path. Lets make them know what happens when they disrespect the saviors!!!!
And so the killing spree started. Bloodthirsty pirates stopping every merchant found in the road and killing with no mercy. Leaving a path of blood behind. A path that would no doubt attract attention and witnesses of the carnage, people to tell the tale and spread the message on Arelith.
The message came to Nathaniel who organized a group to fight the pirates. A battle came to be in the road outside. A giant prismatic dragon appeared in the middle of the group of pirates and the cordorians charged confidant that they would be fighting on the side of the giant beast. An error. The dragon was only an illusion and the cordorians saw themselves trapped in the middle of a number of magical effects that disabled them. The pirates, trained to fight in such situation took advance and killed as many in the group as they could.
But the bishop knew the pirates could not win the fight. Soon Cordor would send reinforcements and the group would be overwhelmed. A victory would become a defeat so the call to retreat came. The message was sent the blood on the trade route was there and several witnesses saw what means to anger the saviors.
Back in Sencliff, the pirates went to the temple of war to celebrate the victory. Tempus was pleased with the bravury of the pirates, the shown of power and control in the battlefield. All was left to do was a speech.
And with the confort the message was sent and that the pirates were happy with this victory (and wanting more) bishop drunk with his friends confortably while the good people of Bendir licked their wounds and buried their dead.
