Spellsword Cold Imbue effect unremovable

Post by Fargreze »

The movement slowing effect inflicted by a spellsword's cold imbue appears not to be removable (tried lesser restoration, restoration, even pray failed). In other words, if the target fails the save, the speed debuff will last its full duration because it can't be cured. Tested on PGCC specifically using a spell that gave the "rank 2" level of the imbue (4 rounds of slow).

This seems unintended because (for example) the fire imbue effect, an AC debuff, is removed with just lesser restoration (as are many other classes' debuffs).

Lesser Restoration
Description: Removes all magical, extraordinary, and supernatural effects that apply a penalty to ability scores, armor class, attack and damage rolls, spell resistance, and saving throws. This spell will not remove the effects of a curse or a disease.
Restoration
Description: Removes all magical, extraordinary and supernatural effects that apply a penalty to ability scores, armor class, attack and damage rolls, spell resistance, saving throws and damage immunity. This spell also removes all ability drain, level drain, blindness and deafness effects. While this spell will not remove a curse or disease itself, it will remove (supernatural) ability score penalties caused by a disease.
Greater Restoration
Description: Greater restoration removes most temporary and all permanent negative effects from the target character, including level drain. It does not remove the effects of reduced movement speed. It also heals the target creature to full hit points.
Freedom of Movement
The target creature becomes immune to paralysis, slow, and entanglement spells and effects. This spell also protects the target from movement speed decreases. In addition to granting immunity (to future effects), this spell also removes pre-existing effects of the types it protects against.
Not a bug. You're just using the wrong spell to clear it.

I didn't know those details; now knowing all that, I should mention that FoM did not remove the speed debuff either. It protected against the imbue's application, but did not cure it after the fact.
