Ranger Animal Companion Charges consumed

Occassionally Animal Companions wont summon for "reasons"

Previously it wouldnt consume the charge of the ability, now it does

-cooldown all does not refresh it, not does it show on the list, meaning a rest is required if you lose your animal companion in this way

Could you describe these "reasons" a bit more?
It might be possible to fix the summoning issue.

I wish I could provide some inside into why it fails sometimes, there doesnt appear to be any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes the summon just would not fire at all. You move your character slightly and try again and it works.

I've never noticed any commonalities in the occurrences. I always summon the companion out of combat so you can buff it etc, so its not even as though it could be getting interrupted

Pretty regularly. I actually just happened now in Avernus as well. For no reason that was apparent. Animal summon, char does the animation, nothing happens. Lost the charge

Thanks. If i can't find the culprit I'll adjust the feat to restore changes as it used to.

That might be the quickest and easiest fix, as before this patch it would just be a reuse of the skill, now you need a full rest

The feat will soon work like it used to. Those summoning failures are hard to pin down.

These summoning failures seem to happen most often when the AC would be summoned out of bounds (i.e., into a wall or unpathable object)
