Cavalier spirited charge issue

Post by Lord Of The Nine »

Description
==========
Reached level 7 Cavalier but did not receive the upgraded spirited charge with plus 4 AB and added Bullrush. Using a cavalry hammer. Also the masterly steel cavalry hammer has a 13 level requirement but should be 2.

Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
Tried many different enemies and checked combat log and character sheet while using spirited charge as a level 7 cavalier. Every outcome continued to use the plus 3 ab version with the stun only.

Expected result
-----------------------
Plus 4 AB spirited charge with stun and bullrush when using a cavalry hammer as a level 7 Cavalier

Actual result
-------------------
Plus 3 ab spirited charge with stun only as a level 7 Cavalier.

--------------------

Misc Notes
----------------

Live or PGCC server? If Live, which?

The bullrush and spirited charge worked fine on PGCC but not on Live.

Cavalry Hammer Giving Incorrect AB on On Foot Spirited Charge

Post by Svrtr »

As mentioned above, using a cavalry hammer (seemingly every type from bronze to the bec de corbin) gives incorrect AB when wielding it and using on foot spirited charge.

Expected Result: At 10 cav levels, use a bed de corbin and use on foot spirited charge and get +3 AB

Actual Result: The game says you are using a non-cav weapon and gives you 2 AB. Combat Log gives you this notification, character sheet says so, and when actually hitting stuff this is confirmed

Unsure if this is solely on the PGCC or also on live as I do not have a cavalier on live

Also experienced this on PGCC. Confirmed with Kenji this shouldn't be the case.

The Cavalier weapon detection script and numbers are due for an update, though not any time soon. Until then, hold tight. I expect to do this once I am done with cleric domains.

Bumping this up because the cavalry hammer is still having some issues.
On mounted spirited charge there is no daze, no knockdown nor bullrush happening, only raw damage.

Haven't checked the ab bonus.

Tried with different bludgeoning weapons (light flail + warmace) and the stunning/knockdown is triggered.

Think I -maybe- found the problem. Thanks to new update, the bec de corbin should be doing extra piercing damage.
Instead it does bonus slashing damage and does not stun.

May be that its somehow considered like a slashing weapon?

Anyway, even if I'm wrong. Bec de corbin still does not do daze/stun/bullrush, and weapon description says 4 bonus slashing damage (instead of the 4 piercing)

Cav hammer is indeed considered piercing first and bludgeon second. Therefore the detection scripts aren't working properly for weapons with dual-damage types.

A fix is in the pipeline.

Upon further investigation, Daze/Stun is working as intended, but there are no VFX indicators. VFX will be added to reflect the CCs, but keep an eye out to see if it is working properly by checking if enemies are stopping their attack animations for a short while.

Can existing Cavs confirm that the CCs are indeed proc’ing and have VFX for indication on live without fail, thanks.

Cavalry hammer now working like a charm!

Always stun after charge with VFX (and appropriate duration - in my case 2 sec for a lvl 10 cav)

Knockdown less frequent, but finally happening ( it's a higher dc?)

And there's no more that red VFX after hitting with a charge, that I guess was the bleeding damage applied when it considered the hammer an axe.

Great work, thanks!

edit 1: description still says the bonus physical damage is slashing for the hammer, which according to the latest update should be piercing. I have no idea if its just a text that needs an update, or if the extra damage is of the wrong kind.

Also, charged my first dragon. The satisfaction of seeing one eat dirt after a charge...there's really no greater feeling. Cav best class ever! :D
