The Gambler's Bluff Writ

Post by Za-Lord~s Guard »

This writ doesn't offer much detail on the location, and new players will likely be unaware that without a character with open lock in their party they effectively wasted one of their writs for the day.

This is a bad experience to give for a low level dungeon, since it is the kind newcomers to the server will be most likely to visit.
Oh, you came for adventure? Well you're not getting it without a rogue in the party. Goodbye!
If the writ itself indicated this, or if the doors were changed to be bashable (though one door is technically bashable, but has ridiculous DR and health) then this would be a much better dungeon for new players to cut their teeth on. As it is now, some might wander around confusedly thinking there's a way to open it themselves before eventually leaving the server with a bad impression of it.

Having tried to do this dungeon few days ago, then got frustrated and left, I'd agree it should have something changed. I don't think it's fair to expect everyone to have Open lock - I even went back with Knock scrolls, hoping to open ANY of the doors, to realize it's wasted effort.
You need the Dark in order to show the Light.

The door is smashable which ironically bugs the door out when it respawns and ruins it for future people.

Yes.. but good luck doing that when you are knee deep in a totally different writ area and need to log off soon and don't know better.
