Abjurant Champion Elemental Strike

So I have recently started playing a Spellsword. Specifically an Abjurant Champion, who has 16 levels in the class for the empowered elemental strike... but more often than not, I get the message that 'Arcane Spell Failure has prevented you from empowering your weapon with elemental properties' and therefore gain no benefits from said strike wearing full plate.

I have Automatic Still Spell I already, from my level, and was wondering if ASF will stop affecting the main ability of the variant that wears heavy armour or not. Overall it feels a bit unrewarding, that I am punished with the thing that the ABJ Champ works hard against within its build.

At level 24 you'll be able to select Automatic Still Spell 3 and use full plate and a tower shield. Until then I'd recommend relying on medium armor.
