[RESOLVED] Bard Update Resets Known Songs

The bard update removed all the bard songs and curse songs my bard previously knew

Steps to reproduce

Log in on an existing bard with songs

Expected result

Have those songs

Actual result
-------------------
Only have the songs awarded for free while leveling up -- it even removed the songs my bard had previously known at level 2 when I created him.

Human bard/loremaster, I used -relevel after the initial level up to fix a mistake I made and only noticed it afterwards. Unsure if it stripped the songs on login, or on -relevel.

Songs were changed around- humans get random ones instead of pre-set ones. Is that possibly what occurred?

So before I had 14 or 15 bard songs and roughly 10 curse songs, and now I have 5 bard songs and 3 curse songs. Two of my bard songs I definitely remember finding through exploration and I seem to have kept those. None of the songs were taught by another PC.

I currently have 20 levels of bard, so that’s 2 random songs if I’m understanding right.

So I think maybe those numbers add up correctly if humans lost the old list of starter songs?

There was a little bug that gave all bards all bardsongs for a while.
It was said to enjoy it while it lasts. As it would be reverted in a future patch keeping the songs you actually discovered or learned from other bards.

Seems the time of reverting has come.

Ah yeah. This too. All songs were bugged out to be known in the song list. You could still learn the songs, it was just the menu/command that was messed up.

Don't know where the post was but it was in bug reports somewhere.

Not sure where to post this but since I have a similar bug, I'll toss this in here. When I checked my song list after re-leveling, I noticed that one of the first songs I was taught, Sea Shanties, was missing from the list.



I'm not 100% sure if anything else is missing, since my bard tends to just use a few songs regularly, but given she's a sailor-gift full sail sailor, I definitely noticed the one missing. I was taught the song before the first batch of song updates, and my bard is a drow, so I don't think sea shanties would've been shuffled around in a starter song change.

For those experiencing this bug, my theory is that it is an unintended side-effect of a previous update done by Red Ropes and Sincra that moved some of the songs around in the menu. The reason it wasn't seen before was because that was also the update that broke the song lists to where everyone had access to every song. If you lost one of those few first songs and now have a different one, that'll be why.

I'm not going to adjust the numbers because that'll just break it again, but I hope that helps remedy any confusion.
