Can confirm this also occurs with Vigilante on PGCC.
According to the combat logs the PC doesn't even seem to make a will save against the fear, the fear is just automatically applied every single time something is killed.

yep, same here with Method: Gruesome Technique. Fears me and my companion's animal summon. Very annoying.

I can confirm that the fear no longer affects the player character.
