Epic Knight:
I had some thoughts about expending the knight another 10 levels -
Level 11 - Knight would gain a squire as a summon. The squire is a banner man, holding a standard of his house, lord or cause. This offers an AoE effect giving a +1 bonus to AB to allies near the squire. The squire is a poor warrior however with low HP and AC, thus needs to be guarded by the knight to survive.
Level 13 - With some training from you his benefactor, The squire has gained some basic training in combat. No longer holding your standard in his hand, but upon his back, freeing him to wield a sword. He is also able to place a standard upon the ground ever 3 minutes that will produce a random effect similar to a 1st level dwarven defenders, at a reduced effect.
Level 16 - Under your guidance over time your squire as grown from a boy/girl, into a man/lady. No longer burdened with holding your banner, this task is passed to a new squire. You are now able to call on a man/woman at arms who is a reasonable fighter with sword and shield, filling a henchmen slot, while a squire can be called upon as a summon.
Level 19 - From humbles beginnings as your squire, now a true comrade in arms. Your man at arms has become a knight is his own right, sworn to serve you. Depending on your path will depend on the knight be becomes.
Protection - Heavy plate, Cav sword and tower shield. High AC and HP, med to low damage.
Vanguard - Med armor, 2h weapon. High damage, low AC, med HP.
Valiant - Med armor, sword and shield, mounted. Med AC, HP and low damage. Mounted movement speed.
Level 20 - The height of knighthood, you are a warrior of renown. As such you are able to take on a 2nd knight similar to the level 19 variant. your chosen paths ability is further increased by +1.
{possible ability at 20?}
Call to arms - Once every 10 minutes, a 20 level knight is able to order his squire to rally some troops to aid them. Summoning 4 fodder troops with low HP, damage and AC. These troops will fight at your side for 1 minute before leaving, assuming they survive long enough. These troops unlike your trained henchmen are barely able to hold a sword and are highly susceptible to AoE effects/damage.
