Past a point when the novelty wears off, all the volcano does is be annoying at most, at worst it can literally halt a dungeon run for minutes at a time as you wait for the volcano to just go away and stop clogging up the one corridor to move forward.
It happens way more often than you'd expect and it's just- not fun? It's the most gameplay disrupting thing in the game and you have NO control over when it happens.
